Connection Type Switching
Specify the network connection type (wired or wireless).
For wireless communication via an access point, select "Wireless (Infrastructure Mode)". (A wired connection already
being established at this time will be disabled.)
For wireless communication between devices without using an access point, select "Wired + Wireless (Ad-hoc Mode)".
For wired connection only (without any wireless communication), select "Wired Only".
Wireless Settings
Configure settings to connect the network using a wireless connection.
[Configure (Ad-hoc Mode)] key
If the [Settings] button is touched while [Connection Type Switching] is set to [Wired+Wireless (Ad-hoc Mode)] or
[Wired Only], the Wireless Settings (Access Point Mode) screen is displayed.
[Configure (Infrastructure Mode)] key
If [Connection Type Switching] is set to [Wireless (infrastructure mode)] and the [Settings] button is touched, the
infrastructure mode wireless setting screen is displayed.
[Initialize] key
Touch this key to reset wireless settings to the factory default.
Configure (Ad-hoc Mode)
SSID
Enter an SSID using up to 32 characters.
Security Type
Select a security type.
Encry.
Select an encryption type.
Security Key
Enter a security key. 5 characters or 10-digit
hexadecimal number
Show Security Key
If it is set to ON, the security key appears.
Device IP Address
Enter the IP address.
Channel to Be Used
Select the channel to be used in wireless LAN.
Sending Output
Configure the sending output.
Start IP Address/End IP Address
Configure the range to be used the IP address.
Lease Period
Configure the lease period for the IP address.
If "Wired + Wireless (Ad-hoc Mode)" is selected, only the following functions and operations are available for devices
connected to the machine:
- Browsing Web pages of the machine
- Printer functions
- Scanner functions
- Remote operations ("REMOTE OPERATION OF THE MACHINE" (Page 1-23))
- SMB server functions
- mDNS
This function is not available in some countries and regions.
