SAFETY INFORMATION
• Use these tools ONLY in accordance with these instructions and for their intended purpose
of servicing engine camshafts.
• Keep your work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
• Keep children and bystanders away while using these tools.
• DO NOT use these tools while you are tired or under the inuence of drugs, alcohol, or
medication.
• Use the appropriate safety equipment for your job. Wear ANSI and OSHA-approved eye
protection and heavy-duty work gloves when using these tools.
• DO NOT wear loose clothing or jewelry while using these tools. Keep your hair, clothing,
and gloves away from any moving parts.
• Prior to servicing a vehicle, turn o its engine and refer to its manufacturer's service and
repair manual for instructions on how to safely secure the vehicle in place with chocks,
jacks, stands, etc.
• Keep careful track of the exact placement of each part during removal and replacement.
• DO NOT allow people unfamiliar with these tools or these instructions to operate it.
• DO NOT overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
• Maintain these tools. Check for misalignment or binding of parts, breakage of parts, and
any other condition that may aect these tools’ operation. If these tools become damaged,
have them repaired before further use.

Camshaft Holding Tools
1. Rotate the rst cylinder to top dead center.
2. Install the tools on the ats of the camshaft as shown in Fig. 1.
3. Service your camshaft as needed.
4. Refer to the vehicle service manual for the correct camshaft to crankshaft timing procedure.

1. Insert the tool through the hole in the top of
the mega cap as shown in Fig. 2.
2. Compress the secondary timing chain
tensioner and install the chain tensioner
holder tool in the hole on the rear of the
secondary timing chain tensioner guide.
Position it against the mega cap to retain
the tensioner in the compressed position.
3. Service the secondary timing chain as
required according to vehicle service
manual.
Camshaft Phaser Bolt Removal Socket
1. Attach the wide end of the socket to a ½″ ratchet wrench (not
included) and insert the narrow end into the phaser bolt.
2. Hold the camshaft in place with an adjustable wrench (not included)
or camshaft holding tool while you use the ratchet wrench to loosen
or fasten the phaser bolt.
