background
Radiance Chill IPL Hair Remover uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) technology to
emit a specific wavelength of the light and delivers to the skin. The device is
designed to help break the cycle of hair regrowth. Light energy is transferred
through the skin's surface and is absorbed by melanin present in the hair shaft.
The absorbed light energy is converted to heat energy (below the surface of the
skin), which disables the hair follicle preventing further growth, so as to achieve
effective hair removal.
How Does IPL Work
3. How It Works
3.1
Immediately Post-Treatment
You should not see any significant side effects from treatment (Refer to section
5.2 for more information on side effects).
In the first few weeks following initial treatments, you will still see some hair
growing. These are likely to be hairs that were missed during treatment i.e.
they were lying dormant and not in their growth phase (Anagen) during
treatment; when IPL is most effective.
6 weeks into the 12 week plan
You should see a reduction in hair growth. However, many hairs may still not
have been treated in their growth phase. It is important to continue the weekly
treatments.
After the 12 week plan
Immediately after you have completed the 12 weeks plan you should see a
significant reduction in hairs within the treated area. Any remaining hairs should
be finer and lighter in colour. Continued monthly treatments, or treatments as
required, should keep your skin hair-free.
What To Expect
3.2

background
Proper light energy output is defined as ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE of this
device by the manufacturer. If the device is placed firmly on the skin and
completed energy-storage, and then the device does not flash after the trigger
button is pressed, the device has malfunctioned. If this occurs, contact
customer service.
Warning: Don t use near active HF surgical equipment and the RF shielded
room of an ME system for magnetic resonance imaging, where the intensity of
EM disturbances is high.
Warning: Use of this equipment adjacent to or stacked with other equipment
should be avoided because it could result in improper operation. If such use is
necessary, this equipment and the other equipment should be observed to
verify that they are operating normally.
Warning: Use of accessories, transducers, and cables other than those
specified or provided by the manufacturer of this equipment could result in
increased electromagnetic emissions or decreased electromagnetic immunity
of this equipment and result in improper operation.
Warning: Portable RF communications equipment (including peripherals such
as antenna cables and external antennas) should be used no closer than 12 in
(30 cm) to any part of the equipment, including cables specified by the
manufacturer. Otherwise, degradation of the performance of this equipment
could result.
