Important information!
Retain for future use!
Read the instruction manual carefully before using this device,
especially the safety instructions, and keep the instruction manual
for future use. Should you give this device to another person, it is
vital that you also pass on these instructions for use.
INTENDED USE:
The medisana Infrared thermometer TM 750 is suitable to measure the body
temperature of humans. The measurement is carried out in the ear or on the
forehead. Additionally the thermometer is suitable to measure the temperature of
objects in the range of 0°C to 100°C (32°F - 212°F).
CONTRAINDICATION:
The device is not suitable for measuring the temperature of infants up to 6 months
of age
Safety Information
• Only use the unit for the specic purpose described in the instruction manual. Any
misuse will void the warranty.
• The unit is not designed for commercial use.
• Using this thermometer is no substitute for consulting a doctor.
• The thermometer and the patient must remain in a stable environment for at least
30 minutes before measuring the temperature.
• This device is not designed to be used by persons (including children) with limited
physical, sensory or mental abilities, or by persons with insufcient experience and/
or knowledge, unless under observation by a person responsible for their safety, or
unless they have been instructed in the use of the device.
• Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.
• The temperature in the forehead and temple area differs from the internal
temperature, which is taken orally or rectally. Vasoconstriction, an effect which
constricts the blood vessels and cools the skin, can occur during the early stages
of a fever. In this case, the temperature measured by this thermometer may
be unusually low. If the measurement therefore does not match the patient’ s
own perception or is unusually low, repeat the measurement every 15 minutes.
As a reference, you can also measure the internal body temperature using a
conventional oral or rectal thermometer.
A control measurement using a conventional thermometer is re-commended in the
following cases:
1. If the reading is surprisingly low;
2. For children under three years of age who have a weakened immune system or
who react unusually in the presence or absence of fever;
3. If you are using the thermometer for the rst time or want to familiarize yourself
with it.
• Babies’ skin reacts very quickly to the ambient temperature. There-fore, do not take
their temperature with this thermometer during or after breastfeeding, because the
skin temperature may then be lower than the internal body temperature.
• If a fault occurs or the unit is damaged, do not attempt to repair the unit yourself, as
this will void the warranty. Contact your dealer and only have repairs carried out by
authorized service partners.
• Do not use the thermometer if it is damaged.
• Do not open up the device. It contains small parts which might be swallowed by
children.
• Do not use the thermometer in damp environments. Do not immerse the
thermometer in water or other liquids. It is not watertight.
• For cleaning, follow the instructions in 4.1 Cleaning and maintenance.
• Do not shake or tap the thermometer. Do not drop it.
• Protect the device from direct sunlight, extremely high or low temperatures, dirt and
dust.
• If the thermometer is not going to be used for a long period, remove the batteries.
• Measurements in the ear should always be carried out in the same ear.
• Do not measure on hurt or dirty parts of the body.
• The use of the thermometer by different persons may lead to infections with
contagious diseases. Consult your doctor.
Thank you very much for your condence and congratulations!

Useful information on taking temperature with the infrared
thermometer TM 750
What is fever?
Our normal body temperature is between 36°C (96.8°F) and 37.5°C (99.5°F).
Fluctuations are quite normal, depending on time of day and the body’s
condition, for example in the female menstruation cycle. However, when body
temperature rises above 38°C (100.4°F), the phenomenon is known as fever.
Fever often occurs in the case of infections, and is a sign that the body’ s
immune system is working overtime. This perfectly normal reaction to foreign
bodies, germs and microorganisms should be checked at regular intervals. If the
fever should exceed 39°C (102.2°F) and not fall again within 1 to 2 days, you
should denitely contact your doctor.
A fever is often associated with fatigue, pains in the limbs, shivering and
chills. The course of an illness can be best monitored by taking a temperature
reading 2 to 3 times a day at 4 to 6 hour intervals. Always take the temperature
at the same place and on the same part of the body. If you have to take the
temperature several days in succession, always do it at approximately the
same time of day so that the results are comparable.
Taking a temperature reading - quickly and accurately!
The medisana Infrared thermometer TM 750 allows a precise measurement
of body temperature. The temperature is taken between the forehead and
the temple or alternatively in the ear. The reading is displayed within a few
seconds.
Additional function
Apart from measuring body temperature, the Infrared thermometer TM 750
from medisana can also be used to measure the temperature of objects (e.g.
uids, surfaces, ambient temperature).
The temperature range for this function is between 0° and 100°C (32°F -
212°F).
Getting started
Removing / inserting batteries
For correct function, the included 2 batteries 1.5V (LR03,AAA) need to be
inserted. When the battery exchange symbol j appears in the display
after a longer time of usage, the batteries should be replaced soonest. When
the battery exchange symbol
j appears together with “Lo” or nothing at all
appears in the display
y
, the batteries need to be replaced immediately.
Cleaning and maintenance
The sensor w is the most delicate part of
the medisana Infrared thermometer TM 750.
Protect it from dirt and damage. Clean the
sensor with a cotton bud dipped in warm water
or 70% isopropyl alcohol.
Do not immerse the thermometer in water or
any other liquid. It is not watertight.
To clean the thermometer, use a soft cloth slightly dampened with mild soapy water
or 70% isopropyl alcohol. Do not let water get into the unit. Only use the unit again
when completely dry.
Never use aggressive cleaning agents, thinners, benzine or tough brushes.
Take care not to scratch the lens of the sensor, the display or the housing.
Do not use or store the unit in an environment where the ambient temperature
or humidity is too high or too low (see operating conditions in the “Technical
specications” section), in direct sunshine, in the vicinity of static electricity or in a
dusty environment.
Remove the batteries if you do not wish to use the unit for an extended period of
time. Otherwise there is a danger that the batteries may leak.
If the thermometer is used as described in these instructions, no regular
maintenance or calibration is required.

Before use
Acclimatise the thermometer to the temperature of the room:
For an accurate reading of a patient’s temperature, their body must rst
acclimatise to the temperature of the room where the measurement with be
made. The same applies to the Infrared thermometer TM 750. When taken
somewhere else, it automatically adjusts itself to the new environment. The
thermometer takes a certain amount of time to equalise its own temperature to
that of the room. This depends on the difference between the two temperatures
and can take more than 30 minutes. Precise readings can only be process is
completed.
Setting the unit of measure, the time and the date:
When the thermometer is used for the rst time or after a battery change, the
unit of measure, the time and the date must rst be set. If you want to return
to the setting mode later on, press and hold the SET -button u for approx. 5
seconds, when device is switched on.
After the self-test (where all the display symbols are shown in succession
in the display y ) two short beeps can be heard. Now you adjust the unit of
measure (°C or °F) with the SET -button u . Press the Memory-button o to
conrm the setting. Use the same procedure (SET -button u to adjust a value
and Memory-button 9 o to conrm) for setting the year, month, day, hour and
minute. After the last press on the Memory-button o the display y shows
“OFF” and then the device with switch off automatically.
Information on measuring temperature
The sensor w of the thermometer must be kept clean and intact at all times in
order to guarantee that the measurements are accurate.
Ear wax affects the measuring accuracy. If necessary, clean your ear and the
sensor tip of the thermometer before measuring in order to avoid erroneous
measurements.
Before taking a measurement on the forehead, clean the area and remove
any dirt, sweat or cosmetics before moving the sensor to the measuring
position as otherwise erroneous results could be measured.
Do not measure your temperature immediately after eating, training or
bathing. Wait for half an hour.
Do not take successive measurements at intervals of less than one minute.
If you have to take your temperature at shorter intervals, the results may
uctuate slightly.
The human body temperature uctuates with a natural range. There is no
such thing as a standard body temperature.
Measure and record your body temperature on normal days. This will allow
you to detect a fever more easily.
In order to make an accurate measurement in the ear, the sensor must be
directed at the eardrum and be inserted far enough into the ear canal.
Some people will have different reading for the right and left ears. Always
measure the same person in the same ear when measuring temperature
changes.
The measurements can also be inuenced by your sleeping position.
If someone has slept on a particular ear for a considerable period, the
temperature will be higher than normal in this ear. In this case, measure in the
other ear or wait for a few minutes before measuring.
Measuring the temperature at your forehead
NOTE
Forehead temperatures should only be taken for checking purposes,
since the skin temperature at the forehead is easily affected by outside
inuences, meaning that the measurement can be falsied.

t
lights
up in red (= fever alarm). In all other cases the indicator LED
t
lights up in green.
6. The measurement result will automatically be saved. After some seconds
without pressing any button the device will switch off automatically.

carefully insert the sensor into the ear. For children under the age of 1 year,
the sensor should be inserted into the ear canal, while
the child is lying at (e.g. on a bed) with the head slightly
turned, so that the ear points upward. Press and hold
the button for ear measurement mode r for approx.
1 second. The symbol for ear measurement mode ;
appears in the display.
4. Release the button. After the measurement process is
