Thank you for purchasing the Ivation 12-Pod Indoor Herb
Garden Starter Kit. This User Guide is intended to provide
you with guidelines to ensure that operation of this product
is safe and does not pose risk to the user. Any use that
does not conform to the guidelines described in this User
Guide may void the limited warranty.
Please read all directions before using the product and
retain this guide for reference. This product is intended for
household use only. It is not intended for commercial use.
This product is covered by a limited one-year warranty.

a similarly qualified professional as soon as possible. Do not
attempt to repair or replace the power cord on your own.
• The operation of this machine requires that there is water and
12 V DC power supplied to the product. Make sure electric
components are not exposed to water to prevent damage to
the machine.
• After adding or handling water for the product, please make
sure to dry your hands before connecting the adapter to a
power supply. Handling the power adapter with wet hands will
create the risk of electric shock.

POWER button – Turns on & o the garden grower / Red light – Device
is o, but plugged in. / Green light – Device is on.
FAN / WATER button – Powers on the fan and water pump. The fan
and pump will operate for 30 minutes then sleep for 30 minutes and
continue that cycle automatically. If the fan and pump is turned o
manually for 10 hours, the grower will automatically turn back on. /
Blue light – Mode is currently on.
VEGETABLES button – Best for leafy vegetables and foliage plants. In
this mode, the light will be on for 16 hours then turn o for eight (8)
hours. / Blue light – Mode is currently selected.
FLOWERS / FRUITS button - Best for fruits and ornamental plants. In
this mode, the light will be on for 16 hours then turn o for eight (8)
hours. / Blue light – Mode is currently selected.
NOTE: The LED lighting panel consists of four (4) types of lighting
beads: red light beads, white light beads, blue light beads, and IR light
beads. In vegetables mode, all four (4) beads will turn on which is great
for growth of plant leaves. In flowers/fruits mode, the blue light beads
will turn o and the three other light beads will turn on which is great
for seedlings, flowers, fruits, and plant germination.

SET UP INSTRUCTIONS
PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Take the garden grower out of its packaging. Place the grower
on a flat, level surface.
2. Pull the LED lighting panel up by using the telescopic rod. Hold
down the water storage tank of the grower as you pull up the
LED lighting panel, so the grower stays stable.
3. Remove the pod board and take the accessories out of the
water tank. Then, place the pod board back on the grower.
4. Plug the water pump power cord into the water pump power
port under the lighting panel.
5. Plug the power adapter into the power charging port under the
lighting panel. Then, plug the other end of the adapter into a
power outlet.
PREPPING THE NUTRIENT SOLUTION
1. Pour fresh, clean water into the bottle of nutrient A solution. Then,
pour water into the bottle of nutrient B solution.
2. Shake the bottles thoroughly to fully mix the contents.

3. Pour five (5) ml of nutrient A solution into the bottle cap. Then,
pour five (5) ml of nutrient B solution into the other bottle cap.
(The bottle caps also serve as measuring cups in milliliters.)
4. Add the bottle cap of five (5) ml nutrient A solution into one
(1) liter of water, then stir.
NOTE: The amount of water you are using determines how
much nutrient solution you should add to the water. Add
five (5) ml of nutrient A solution and five (5) ml of nutrient B
solution to every liter of water used. The water tank holds four
(4) liters of liquid all together.
5. Add the bottle cap of five (5) ml nutrient B solution to the
same liter of water and stir until the solutions are equally
distributed in the water.

CAUTION: Nutrients have a storage life of two (2) years
in unopened bottles if stored away from sunlight at room
temperature. Mixed nutrient solution with added water has a
storage life of five (5) months if stored away from sunlight.

PREPPING THE GARDEN GROWER
1. Slide the water inlet cap to reveal water inlet opening located
on the pod board.

2. Pour water or your prepared A/B nutrient solution into the
water storage tank through the water inlet.
NOTE: When changing the water, it is not necessary to lift the
grower. Simply open the water outlet on the back of the grower
and let the water drain out.
3. Unpack the desired amount of seedling blocks you plan on
using. Then, soak them in water.
NOTE: The seedling blocks will change colors when soaked.
However, the blocks can and should be used after being
soaked.
4. Soak the seeds you plan on using in water for five
(5) to 12 hours. Then, place one to three (1 – 3)
seed(s) into one (1) seedling block using the planting
tweezers.
5. Place the soaked blocks into planting baskets. (If
needed, you can hold the planting baskets with the
tweezers for extra stability as you insert the blocks
into the planting baskets.) Next, place the planting
baskets into a pod hole on the grower.
NOTE: Use the height adjusting knob on the telescopic
rod to lower the LED lighting panel close to the baskets to
maximize light intensity on seeds. Raise the lighting panel as
plants grow taller. There should be about 4” (10 cm) of space
between the lighting panel and plants to avoid hindering the

plant growth. It is completely possible that some seeds may
not grow. Every seed works dierently, and your results may
vary. If this happens, remove the seed(s) and replace them with
new ones.
6. Press the POWER button to turn on the garden grower. Then,
press the FAN / WATER button start the operation of the fan
and water pump.
7. Allow your seeds time to grow. After 24 hours, the seeds
should begin to show signs of sprouting. Even if they do not,
please allow the growing process to continue.
NOTES: Use pod covers to cover pod holes that are currently
vacant. The pod covers can be used to prevent insects from
entering the grower and stop algae from growing in the tank. The
seedling covers create moisture and heat preservation. They are
also used to prevent small sprouts from insect damage.
Mold may form around the basket if the grower is not properly
maintained. A little mold will not aect your plants, but a lot of
mold may cripple the plant growth. If this happens, remove the
seedling block from the basket. Then, remove seed(s) from the
block. Next, rinse o and wipe down the block and basket. Place
the seedling block back into the basket. Add new seed(s) to the
seedling block of the basket, place the basket back in the pod
board, and start the growing process again.

• Algae can occasionally develop in the water storage tank, but this
is natural and harmless. Make sure to regularly clean the water
tank with disinfectant to reduce the development of algae.
• Always make sure that the water level stays at an ecient level.
If the seedling blocks receive too little water, the roots will
wither. If the seedling blocks receive too much water, the blocks
may develop algae growth.
• If algae forms around the water storage tank, use a soft cloth to
wipe down the water tank.
• If the lights do not come on and buttons do not make a sound
after being pressed, then it is likely that the machine was not
plugged in properly. Unplug the machine and reconnect it or
check the power supply making sure it has ecient power.
• When maintaining your grower, keep in mind that lifting the pod
board to a certain height will turn o the lighting panel. To turn
on the lighting, simply place the cover back on the water tank
and press the POWER button.
• Plants can grow up to 13" under the lighting panel. Tend to and
allow your plants to continue to grow eectively by cutting o
dried leaves and stems.
• Dried up leaves may fall o on their own around the grower.
Wipe dried leaves and dust away around the grower
occasionally to reduce risk of insects.
• Mold may form around the basket if the grower is not properly
maintained. If this happens, remove seed(s) from the seedling
block and clean o the basket. Add new seed(s) to the seedling
block of the basket and start the growing process again.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Why is it that plants grow faster in my 12-Pod Indoor Herb Garden
Starter Kit than they naturally would in conventional soil?
The growth and development of your plants is 100% natural. The
faster growth is due to the composition of the nutrient solutions.
Most plants can only absorb ionic elements. When plants grow in
conventional soil, these elements must first be dissolved from other
organic elements and transported to the root, which then absorbs
and further processes them. These same elements are contained
directly in the nutrient solutions without any further processing
required by the plant. Furthermore, having your garden indoors
means that there are no detrimental eects from the weather, such
as heavy winds, flooding, or excessive heat. For these reasons,
plants will grow more quickly in your 12-Pod Indoor Herb Garden
Starter Kit than they would when planted in conventional soil.
Does growing vegetables attract insects?
Your garden kit should be insect-free, since it uses no conventional
soil, so there is no opportunity for insects to lay eggs. We
recommend keeping your garden in a clean environment and
regularly cleaning up the dust and fallen leaves to make sure it does
not attract bugs.
Does the LED light produce any harmful UV rays?
The LED light system does not generate any ultraviolet radiation,
because it is not necessary for plant growth.
Where is the best location to place my 12-Pod Indoor Herb
Garden Starter Kit? Do the plants require any additional
natural sunlight?
Your Ivation 12-Pod Indoor Herb Garden Starter Kit only requires
a power connection to operate. However, in order to more easily
facilitate the transportation of water to and from the kit, it can be

advantageous to place the kit in a room with easy access to a sink
or other source of water. You can place the kit in your bedroom,
in your kitchen, or even in a basement, as the ideal growth
conditions for your plants are facilitated by the kit’s systems.
You should not, however, place it on any balconies or terraces,
regardless of whether they are open or closed. Too much sunlight,
too high of a temperature, and other weather eects can hurt the
growth of your plants.
Is it acceptable to plant seeds in dierent growth phases
directly next to one another?
The more mature a plant is, the stronger its roots and the bigger
its leaves are. Both of these factors can aect the growth of
smaller plants that might be in the vicinity of a more well-
developed plant. Therefore, newer plants should always be
planted a sucient distance from mature ones.
Can algae growth occur in my 12-Pod Indoor Herb Garden
Starter Kit?
Algae can occasionally develop in the water tank, but this is safe,
natural, and not harmful. To reduce the risk of algae, make sure to
regularly clean the water tank with disinfectant.
How often should nutrient solution/water mixture be refilled?
For optimal results, always mix the nutrient solution with water
directly before filling the water tank. While your plants are small,
the nutrient solution should be replenished every two (2) weeks.
What kind of seeds can be planted?
The grower can take care of and grow herbs, flowers, fruits,
and vegetables. However, plants that grow downward (carrots,
potatoes, etc.) and plants that grow over 15" (which goes above
the max height of the lighting panel) cannot be cultivated in
the grower.

How often does the water in the tank need to be changed?
The water in the tank does not need to be replaced. We have
designed a water circulation system in the tank to ensure that the
water in your tank will not deteriorate or spoil.
How often does the water tank need to be filled?
Fill the water tank when you feel the water level in the water
tank is too low or the alarm system goes o, indicating low water
levels. As a result, add the nutrient solution to the water tank
accordingly.
What kind of water should be used?
No special water is required, normal water is fine. However, we
recommend using purified water to dilute the nutrient powder.
Will the plants in the garden grower attract mosquitos?
Mosquitoes like the taste of carbon dioxide. As long as there are
plants, mosquitoes will be attracted to the garden grower. Make
sure to maintain the sanitation of the garden grower to reduce the
risk of mosquitoes.
Do you need to arrange authorized personnel to come to install it?
The 12-Pod Indoor Herb Garden Starter Kit is designed to be easy
and quick to assemble. The users can complete the assembly
by carefully following the instructions above. There are no tools
needed for the garden kit assembly.
Once the first wave of planting is complete, how do you start the
second wave?
Once the first set of seeds planted finish growing, the herbs
and vegetables can be harvested. After harvesting, unplug the
machine and clean the tank and water tank cover. The baskets are

reusable and can be set up once again after cleaning. The seedling
blocks in the baskets are made from disposable material so it is
recommended that new seedling blocks are purchased for new
planting.
Why after planting for a period of time, are there small insects
next to the plant? How can I deal with the breeding of small
insects? How can we avoid the breeding of small insects?
a. The breeding of small insects is generally related to the
environment; if there are mosquitoes and other small flying
insects indoors, it is easier for insects to breed near the
garden grower.
b. It is recommended to clean your garden grower as soon as
possible if you suspect the breeding of insects near your
plants. To do this, use some insecticidal or disinfection
treatment or replace the water.
c. To avoid the breeding of insects, keep your indoor area
surrounding your garden grower clean.

Telescopic rod keeps
sliding down on its own.

LIMITED WARRANTY TO ORIGINAL CONSUMER
This Ivation 12-Pod Indoor Herb Garden Starter Kit (“Product”), including any accessories included in
the original packaging, as supplied and distributed new by an authorized retailer is warranted by C&A
Marketing, Inc. (the “Company”) to the original consumer purchaser only, against certain defects in
material and workmanship (“Warranty”) as follows:
To receive Warranty service, the original consumer purchaser must contact the Company or its authorized
service provider for problem determination and service procedures. Proof of purchase in the form of a bill
of sale or receipted invoice, evidencing that the Product is within the applicable Warranty period(s), MUST
be presented to the Company or its authorized service provider in order to obtain the requested service.
Service options, parts availability, and response times may vary and may change at any time. In accordance
with applicable law, the Company may require that you furnish additional documents and/or comply with
registration requirements before receiving warranty service. Please contact our customer service for

Shipping expenses to the Company’s Return Facility are not covered by this warranty, and must be paid by
the consumer. The consumer likewise bears all risk of loss or further damage to the Product until delivery
to said facility.
EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS The Company warrants the Product against defects in materials and
workmanship under normal use for a period of ONE (1) YEAR from the date of retail purchase by the
original end-user purchaser (“Warranty Period”). If a hardware defect arises and a valid claim is received
within the Warranty Period, the Company, at its sole option and to the extent permitted by law, will either
(1) repair the Product defect at no charge, using new or refurbished replacement parts, (2) exchange the
Product with a Product that is new or which has been manufactured from new or serviceable used parts
and is at least functionally equivalent to the original device, or (3) refund the purchase price of the Product.
A replacement Product or part thereof shall enjoy the warranty of the original Product for the remainder of
the Warranty Period, or ninety (90) days from the date of replacement or repair, whichever provides you
longer protection. When a Product or part is exchanged, any replacement item becomes your property,
while the replaced item becomes the Company’s property. Refunds can only be given if the original
Product is returned.
This Warranty does not apply to:
(a) Any non-Ivation 12-Pod Indoor Herb Garden Starter Kit product, hardware or software, even if packaged
or sold with the Product;
(b) Damage caused by use with non-Ivation 12-Pod Indoor Herb Garden Starter Kit products;
(c) Damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, flood, fire, earthquake, or other external causes;
(d) Damage caused by operating the Product outside the permitted or intended uses described by the
Company;
(e) Damage caused by third party services;
(f) A Product or part that has been modified to alter functionality or capability without the written
permission of the Company;
(g) Consumable parts, such as batteries, fuses, and bulbs;
(h) Cosmetic damage; or
(i) If any Ivation 12-Pod Indoor Herb Garden Starter Kit serial number has been removed or defaced.
This Warranty is valid only in the country where the consumer purchased the Product, and only applies to
Products purchased and serviced in that country.
The Company does not warrant that the operation of the Product will be uninterrupted or error-free. The
Company is not responsible for damage arising from your failure to follow instructions relating to its use.
