About the SAD Light
Instructions for Use
Congratulations on the purchase of your new “SAD Light”. The product will offer
many years of reliable usage if handled correctly. Please keep your receipt, these
instructions and the original packaging safe in case of future requirement.
Please read the instructions carefully to gain the most benet from your new “SAD
Light”, although the usage guidelines in this document do not replace the advice
of your qualied medical advisor.
Intended Use:
Medical intended use of this appliance is to treat the symptoms of SAD (seasonal
affective disorder) or winter depression. “SAD Light” is intended to boost people’s
energy levels, to adjust circadian rhythms and make people feel more awake.
“SAD Light” is safe and medically proven to provide relief from the symptoms of
SAD.
How does the “SAD Light” work?
In autumn and winter, the seasons with the least sunlight because of shorter days,
the lack of sunlight and a problem with certain brain chemicals stops the hypothal-
amus working properly. The lack of light is thought to affect the production of the
hormone melatonin (that makes you sleepy).
“SAD Light” uses bright lights to simulate the sunlight during the darker autumn
and winter, whilst eliminating the dangerous UV rays contained in sunlight. The
additional light helps adjust the levels of melatonin that can help the symptoms of
SAD.
Seasonal Affective Disorder:
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) as known as winter depression or winter blues.

Most people with SAD start to have symptons during winter, and feel better in the

Safety and performance standards
The following conditions may be in contradiction for use of this appliance:
• suffer(ed) from severe depression
• recent eye surgery or a diagnosed eye condition whereby
doctor has advised you to avoid bright light
• on specic medication (i.e. certain antidepressants,
psychotropic drugs or malaria tablets);
• have high blood pressure with vitreous hemorrhage;
• skin sensitive to light, such as systemic lupus erythematosus

Please read these instructions for use carefully and keep them for later use,
be sure to make them accessible to other users and observe the information they
contain.
• Do not use this appliance in wet surroundings (e.g. in the bathroom or
near a shower). Do not immerse appliance in water or any other liquid.
• Before use, ensure that all packaging materials are removed
and that there is no visible damage to the appliance or accessories.
• When in doubt, do not use the appliance and contact your dealer
or the customer service address provided.
• The adaptor contains a transformer. Do not cut off the adaptor to replace it
with another plug, as this can cause a hazardous situation.

means that the appliance is not operating normally.

• Do not change any cable without authorization of the manufacturer. Use of
cables other than those specied or provided by the manufacturer of this

• Portable RF communications equipment (including peripherals such as
antenna cables and external antennas) should be used no closer
than 30 cm to any part of this appliance, including power cable.

• Avoid exposing the screen to direct sunlight,
spotlight or any other heat source.
• Do not use alcohol or ammonia base liquid to clean the screen.
The cleaning information provided in the section “Cleaning and Storage”.
• Please do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself.
This could result in serious injuries.
Failure to observe this regulation shall void the warranty.
• If this appliance is damaged in any way or it is not working,
it should not be operated.
Please try to x the problem according to FAQ table.
• If the problem is still not resolved, please contact customer service or the
dealer, since special tools are needed to make repairs.
Never try to repair the appliance yourself.
1. Remove the stand from the stand storage cavity.
2. Insert the end of stand into the hole on the back of appliance.
3. Place the appliance on a solid surface approximately
20 - 30cm from your eyes, the light must bathe your face from the side.
4. Connect the appliance only to the mains voltage listed on the type plate.
• Push the plug completely into the mains socket.
• Ensure that there is a socket near the place where the appliance will stand.
• Lay the mains cable in such a way that no one can trip over it.

Operation
Before use, please check the appliance for damage or faults.
If you notice any damage or faults on the appliance,
do not use it and contact customer services or your supplier.
1. Turning on
Press the ON/OFF button once of the appliance to turn on with higher intensity.
2. Choosing the light intensity
To choose a lower intensity, press the ON/OFF button again.
3. Taking the light
You can read, write, make telephone calls or work while you use the appliance.
When using the appliance, try to maintain the recommended distance of
20 - 30 cm between your eyes and the appliance.

In effect, the closer you are to the source of light, the less time you need to use it.
• Do not look directly into the light continuously! Some eye pain or mild head-
aches may be experienced during initial sessions but these should pass.
If in doubt just lower your treatment times until comfortable again.
• Do not leave the appliance unattended in the duration.
4. Enjoying light over longer periods
During the darkest period of the year, repeat the treatment for at least 7 consecu-
tive days, or longer, depending on your individual requirements.
5. Switching off
Press the ON/OFF button of the appliance to switch off.

Nous vous félicitons pour l’achat de votre lampe « Lumière du jour ». Utilisé
correctement, cet appareil fonctionnera de manière fiable pendent de nom-
breuses années. Conservez votre facture, ces instructions ainsi que l’embal-
lage d’orgine en cas de réclamation ultérieure. Veuillez lire attentivement ces
instructions afin de profiter au maximum de votre nouvelle lampe « Lumière
du jour ». Veuillez toutefois noter que ce docu-ment ne remplace pas l’avis
d’un professional de la santé.
Usage prévu
Cette lampe est un appareil de photothérapie utilisé pour traiter les désordres
affectifs saisonniers (DAS). Elle peut contribuer à combattre la fatigue, les
baisses de moral, le manque de concentration, la perte d’appétit, l’irritabilité et
le manque d’énergie que beaucoup de personnes ressentent en automne et
en hiver, lorsque les jours sont plus courts et plus sombres.
Comment fonctionne la « lumière du jour » ?
Le manque de lumière qui se fait ressentir en automne et en hiver peut
provoquer des dysfonctionnements neurologiques qui affectent les
processus chimiques de l’hypothalamus. Le manque de lumière affecte la
production d’une hormone appelée « mélatonine » qui permet de ressentir
la fatigue.
La « lumière du jour » utilise une lumière très forte de 10 000 lumens pour
simuler les effets du soleil sans ses rayons UV. Cette luminosité
supplémentaire permet d’ajuster la production de mélatonine qui aide à
réduire les effets des désordres affectifs saisonniers.
Les désordres affectifs saisonniers
Ce trouble affectif peut provoquer :
- baisse de moral, fatigue chronique
- problème d’insomnie
- trouble de la concentration
- sentiment de manque d’activité
- manque d’énergie

Ces symptômes surviennent à la même saison chaque année. La plupart
des personnes affectées par les DAS commencent à ressentir ses effets
durant l’hiver et se sentent généralement mieux durant l’été.
AVERTISSEMENT
Veuillez éviter d’utiliser l’appareil si l’utilisateur souffre d’une des
maladies suivantes :
- Vous souffrez ou avez souffert de dépression sévère ;
- Vous avez récemment subi une opération chirurgicale des yeux vous contre-
indiquant toute exposition à des lumières fortes ;
- Vous êtes sous médicamentation spécifique (certains antidépresseurs, des
médicaments psychotropes ou traitement antipaludéen) ;
- Vous souffrez d’hypertension artérielle avec hémorragie intra vitréenne ;
- Votre peau est sensible à la lumière (ex. maladie systémique lupus
érythémateux).
Consultez toujours un docteur avant de commencer l’utilisation de ce
produit si vous avez l’une des maladies présentées ci-dessus.
Possibles effets secondaires :

Mesures à prendre pour éviter ou réduire l’apparition de ces effets
secondaires :
- augmentez la distance maintenue entre la lampe et vous-même.
- arrêtez d’utiliser l’appareil pendant quelques pour interrompre l’apparition
de ces effets secondaires puis reprenez le traitement graduellement.

Branchez l’unité centrale exclusivement sur le voltage indiqué sur l’étiquette

- Débranchez toujours l’alimentation principale et laissez l’unité centrale refroidir
avant de la toucher.
- Ne touchez pas l’unité centrale avec les mains mouillées lorsqu’elle est

- N’ouvrir l’appareil que pour remplacer l’ampoule. Ne pas tenter de réparer

Nettoyage
Rangement
Avant de nettoyer l’unité centrale, éteignez toujours l’appareil,
débranchez-le et laissez-le refroidir.
- Ne touchez pas l’appareil avec les mains mouillées.
- Nettoyez à l’aide d’un chiffon humide sur lequel vous pouvez ajouter
un peu de détergent si nécessaire.
- Ne laissez pas de l’eau s’infiltrer dans l’appareil et ne renversez pas
d’eau dessus.
- Le nettoyage peut être fait une fois par mois.
Lorsque vous n’utilisez pas votre lampe « Lumière du jour », rangez-la

Bedienungsanleitung
Vielen Dank für den Kauf der SAD-Lampe. Bei sorgfältiger Behandlung wird
Ihnen dieses Produkt viele Jahre Verlässlichkeit bieten. Bitte heben Sie diese
Anleitung sowie den Zahlungsbeleg und die Originalverpackung für
eventuellen zukünftigen Gebrauch auf. Um alle Vorteile der SAD Lampe zu
genießen lesen Sie Bedienungsanleitung vollständig durch, sofern Sie nicht
anders von Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker beraten wurden.
Vorgesehene Nutzung
Dieses Gerät wurde entwickelt um Symptomen der Winterdepression oder
SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder, zu deutsch saisonal-affektive Störung) zu
behandeln. Die SAD-Lampe ist dafür vorgesehen den Energiepegel zu
erhöhen, die zirkadiane Rhytmik zu korrigieren und Müdigkeit entgegen zu
wirken. Die SADT2-Lampe ist sicher und medizinisch zertifiziert um eine
Erleichterung der SAD-Symptome zu bieten.
Wie funktioniert die SAD-Lampe?
Die Herbst- und Wintermonate, die Jahreszeiten mit wenig natürlichem
Sonnenlicht, können leichte Auseinandersetzungen der Chemikalien im
Gehirn verursachen, was dazu führt, dass der Hypothalamus nicht mehr
ordnungsgemäß funktioniert. Der Lichtmangel wirkt sich auf die
Melatoninproduktion aus, wodurch die Müdigkeit entsteht.
Die SAD-Lampe ist eine helle Lichtquelle mit 10.000LUX die das
Sonnenlicht simuliert, ohne UV-Strahlen auszustrahlen. Die Lampe ist
hilfreich um den Melatoninhaushalt zu regulieren und den Symptomen von
SAD entgegen zu wirken.

Le felicitamos por la compra de su nueva lámpara de luminoterapia SADT2.
Este producto le acompañará durante muchos años de uso si lo manipula
correctamente. Conserve este manual de instrucciones, así como su factura y
el embalaje original para posibles reclamaciones futuras. Le rogamos que lea
estas instrucciones atentamente para sacar el máximo partido a su nueva
lámpara de luz diurna. Tenga en cuenta que este documento no reemplaza el
consejo de un profesional de la salud.
Esta lámpara es un dispositivo de luminoterapia que se utiliza para tratar el
trastorno afectivo estacional (TAE) y destinado a combatir la fatiga, mejorar el
estado de ánimo, corregir la falta de concentración, la pérdida de apetito, la
irritabilidad y la falta de energía que muchas personas sufren durante las
épocas de otoño e invierno, cuando los días son más cortos y hay menos luz.
¿Cómo funciona la luminoterapia o fototerapia?
La falta de horas de luz propias de otoño y el invierno puede provocar
disfunciones neurológicas que afectan a los procesos químicos del
hipotálamo. Esta falta de luz solar afecta a la producción de la hormona
conocida como melatonina, aumentando la fatiga o cansancio.
La lámpara diurna emplea 10000 lúmenes de alta potencia que simulan los
efectos del sol, pero sin los rayos UV. Esta luminosidad suplementaria
permite ajustar la producción de melatonina, ayudando a reducir los
desórdenes afectivos estacionales.
Trastornos afectivos estacionales
Este trastorno afectivo puede provocar:

Estos síntomas aparecen en la misma temporada cada año. La mayoría
de las personas afectadas empiezan a sentir sus efectos durante el
invierno y generalmente vuelven a sentirse mejor durante el verano.
ADVERTENCIA
No utilice el dispositivo si el usuario sufre de una de las siguientes
enfermedades:
-Sufre o ha sufrido depresión severa;
-Le han operado recientemente de la vista y tiene contraindicada la
exposición a lámparas de alta potencia;
-Está tomando ciertas medicaciones (algunos antidepresivos, drogas

-Sufre de presión sanguínea alta con hemorragia vítrea;

Medidas para evitar o mitigar la aparición de estos efectos secundarios:

secundarios desaparezcan y comenzar a utilizarlo de nuevo de manera
graduada.

La lámpara de fototerapia o luminoterapia ha sido diseñada y fabricada
siguiendo los más altos estándares de seguridad y rendimiento,
especialmente en referencia a la compatibilidad electromagnética (EMC).

-No utilice el aparato en ambientes húmedos, como el cuarto de baño o cerca de
una ducha. No sumerja el aparato en agua u otros líquidos.
-Antes de utilizarlo, compruebe que todos los embalajes han sido retirados y que
tanto la unidad principal, como los accesorios no presentan daños visibles. En caso
de duda, no utilice el aparato y contacte con el distribuidor.
-La fuente de alimentación incorpora un transformador. No corte la fuente de
alimentación y no intente sustituirla por otra fuente, ya que esto podría suponer un
peligro para el usuario.
-La lámpara de fototerapia o luminoterapia no está diseñada para ser utilizada por
personas adultas o niños con capacidades físicas, sensoriales o mentales
reducidas, o que carecen de experiencia y conocimiento, salvo que estén
supervisadas o hayan recibido instrucciones sobre el uso del aparato por una
persona responsable de su seguridad.
-La lámpara de fototerapia o luminoterapia no es un juguete. No la deje al alcance
de los niños niños.
-Mantenga el cable alejado de cualquier fuente de calor o llamas.
-Conecte el aparato solo con el voltaje de red que aparece en la etiqueta señalada
en el aparato.
-Siempre desconecte la alimentación principal y deje que la unidad se enfríe antes
de tocarla.
-No toque el aparato con las manos mojadas cuando está conectado. No deje que
el agua se filtre dentro de la unidad central. Utilice el aparato solo cuando esté
completamente seco.
-Proteja la unidad central de los golpes violentos.
-No tire del cable para desconectar el aparato. Se recomienda tirar del enchufe.
-Si el cable está dañado, póngase en contacto con servicio al cliente o distribuidor,
ya que las reparaciones requieren herramientas especiales. No intente reparar la

-No abra nunca el aparato para sustituir la bombilla. No intente reparar la

Funcionamiento
1.Retire el pie de apoyo de su espacio de almacenamiento.
2.Inserte el extremo del pie de apoyo en el orificio de la parte trasera del
aparato.
3.Coloque el aparato sobre una superficie plana a aproximadamente 20-30 cm
de su vista.
4.Conecte el aparato a la red eléctrica con precaución.
Nota:
-Asegúrese de que el enchufe esté conectado correctamente.
-Asegúrese de que la toma de corriente se encuentre cerca de donde instalará
la unidad.
-Coloque el cable de alimentación de tal manera que nadie pueda tropezar con
él.

Puede leer, escribir, hacer llamadas o trabajar mientras utiliza la lámpara.
Siempre que sea posible, intente mantener una distancia de 20-30 cm entre sus
ojos y el dispositivo.

Limpieza
Almacenamiento
-Antes de limpiar la unidad central, apague siempre el aparato,
desenchúfelo y deje que se enfríe.
-No toque el aparato con las manos mojadas.
-Límpielo con la ayuda de un paño húmedo. Puede añadir un poco
de jabón en el paño si es necesario.
-No deje que el agua se filtre en el dispositivo y no derrame agua
sobre ella.
-La limpieza se puede realizar una vez al mes.
Cuando no utilice la lámpara de luz diurna, guárdela en un lugar seco,
fuera del alcance de los niños. No deje conectada la lámpara a una fuente
de corriente eléctrica. Siga las siguientes instrucciones técnicas para el
almacenamiento del aparato:

Cuanto mayor sea el tiempo de exposición a la luz, menor será la
necesidad de utilizarla.
Nota:
-No mire directamente la luz de forma continuada. Es posible que sienta
dolores de cabeza o molestias oculares durante las primeras sesiones. Sin
embargo, estos síntomas deberán desaparecer rápidamente. En caso de
duda, reduzca el tiempo de exposición hasta que se sienta cómodo.
-No deje el aparato encendido sin supervisión.
4. Tratamiento continuado.
Durante los meses del año con menos horas de luz, repita el tratamiento
durante al menos 7 días consecutivos o más en función de las necesidades de
cada usuario.
5. Apagar el aparato
Presione el interruptor ON/OFF para apagar la lámpara.

leggere le istruzioni attentamente, al fine di ottenere il massimo beneficio
dalla vostra nuova lampada per fototerapia SAD, a meno di indicazioni
diverse dal vostro medico di base.
Destinazione d'uso
Questo apparecchio è usato per la terapia dei sintomi della SAD (Disordine
Affettivo Stagionale) o altrimenti noto come depressione invernale. La
lampada SAD serve per amplificare i livelli energetici, correggere i ritmi
circadiani e farvi sentire più svegli. Il SADT2 è sicuro e medicamente
certificato per fornire sollievo dai sintomi della SAD.
Come funziona la lampada SAD?
L’arrivo dell’autunno e dell’inverno, le stagioni con carenza di luce solare, può
causare lievi alterazioni di alcune sostanze chimiche del cervello che
impediscono all’ipotalamo di funzionare correttamente. Questa mancanza di
luce causa la dimunuzione della produzione dell'ormone 'melatonina' che
regola il nostro ciclo sonno-sveglia.
La lampada SAD utilizza una luce luminosa di 10000 LUX per simulare la
luce del sole, senza emanare raggi UV, durante le stagioni in cui la
mancanza di luce naturale maggiore. La luce supplementare aiuta a regolare
i livelli di melatonina che può aiutare a curare i sintomi della SAD.

I sintomi si verificano durante la stessa stagione ogni anno. La maggior
parte delle persone, affette dalla SAD, iniziano ad averene i sintomi durante
l'inverno per poi sentirsi meglio durante l’estate.
ATTENZIONE
Per favore non utilizzare questo apparecchio nel caso in cui una
qualsiasi delle seguenti condizioni si applicano al paziente.
- Sofferenza di grave depressione
- Recente chirurgia all'occhio o una condizione diagnosticata dell’occhio, per
cui il medico ha consigliato di evitare la luce intensa
- Terapia di farmaci specifici (cioè alcuni antidepressivi, farmaci psicotropi o
pasticche contro la malaria);
- Pressione alta con l'emorragia vitrosa;
- Pelle sensibile alla luce, come il lupus eritematoso sistemico
Consultare sempre il medico prima di iniziare a usare questo apparecchio,
se avete una qualsiasi delle condizioni elencate sopra.
Possibili effetti collaterali:
- Mal di testa
- Affaticamento degli occhi
- Disturbi del sonno
- Nausea
Contromisure per evitare, ridurre o alleviare questi effetti collaterali:
- Aumentare la distanza tra la vostra postazione e la lampada SAD.
- Evitare di utilizzare l'apparecchio la sera tardi o prima di dormire
- Smettere di usare l'apparecchio per un paio di giorni per far passare gli
effetti collaterali.

Funzionamento
1. Rimuovere il supporto dalla apposita cavità.
2. Inserire l'estremità del supporto nel foro sul retro dell'apparecchio.
3. Posizionare l'apparecchio su di una superficie solida a circa 20-30cm dagli occhi.
4. Collegare l'apparecchio solo alla tensione di alimentazione indicato sulla
targhetta.

- Inserire completamente la spina nella presa.
- Assicurarsi che ci sia una presa vicino al luogo dove l'apparecchio verrà installato.

Conservazione
- Prima di pulire l'apparecchio, spegnerlo sempre, staccare la spina e

Przeznaczenie
Urządzenie zostało zaprojektowane w celu zmniejszenia symptomów SAD
