ADDITIONAL SAFETY INFORMATION
• This appliance is intended for use in domestic households only,
it must not be used for commercial use.
• Hot liquid or steam is emitted from the brewing head and
steam nozzle during operation.
• Do not cover the espresso maker.
• Allow to the espresso maker to cool fully before storing.
• The surfaces of the filter holder and steam nozzle will become
hot during use. Do not touch – always use the handle.
• Ensure that the espresso machine is used in an open, well-
ventilated area well away from other appliances and not near

Description of the Digital Display (6)
1. The Digital Display (6) will show the pattern left
flashing from top to bottom whilst the espresso maker is preheating.
2. After preheating the Digital Display (6) will show the working
temperature for making coffee.
3. After preheating, the Digital Display (6) will show the working
temperature of the steam.
4. Whilst dispensing coffee or steam, the Digital Display (6) will show
the time taken in seconds.
Before first Use of Your Espresso Maker
Please read these operating instructions thoroughly and keep them in a safe place
for future reference.
IMPORTANT in hard water areas it is highly recommended to use demineralised or
filtered water to avoid calcium build up which will prolong the life and prevent
damage to the machine.

Remove the Water Tank (13) from the Espresso Maker by lifting it up and then
remove the red silicone tab from the water outlet as shown below:
Cleaning Your Espresso Maker before First Use
1. Place the Espresso Maker on a solid, level, heat resistant surface clear of all
obstructions as described above.
2. Refit and fill the Water Tank (13) with water up to the MAX line, install the Filter
to be used (17 or 18) into the Filter Holder (3).
Do not put any coffee in the filter at this stage.
3. Place one hand on the top of the espresso maker to
support the unit and attach the Filter Holder (3) using the
Filter Holder Handle (10) by holding the handle and placing
it in the position then rotating right to the locked
position as shown right:
4. Place a coffee cup on the Drip Tray (15) and align it with the Coffee Nozzle (4).
5. Insert the Mains plug into the nearest socket.
6. Press the Power/Single Cup Button (1) once.
7. The Power/Single Cup Button (1) and the Double Cup Buttons (7)
indicators will flash and the Digital Display (6) will show three dashes (see above
Description of Digital Display) whilst the espresso maker preheats.

8. Once preheated the buttons will light constantly and Digital Display (6) will
show the water temperature (92⁰C).
9. Ensure the Steam Nozzle (9) is positioned over the Drip Tray (15).
10. Rotate the Steam Control (11) anticlockwise to the maximum position, the
internal pump will be heard running and hot water will be emitted from the
Steam Nozzle (9). After 30 seconds return the Steam Control (11) fully clockwise
to the off position.
NB the Power/Single Cup Button (1) and the Double Cup Buttons (7) will
pulsate whilst hot water is emitted from the Steam Nozzle (9).
11. Finally, press the Double Cup Button (7) - hot water will now wash the
Coffee Filter (17 or 18 whichever is fitted) and the Filter Holder (3) into
the cup on the Drip Tray (15). Repeat the final step above for the other
coffee filter.
12. The Espresso maker is now cleaned and ready to use.
Using Your Espresso Maker
1. Place the Espresso Maker on a solid, level, heat resistant surface clear of all
obstructions as described above.
2. Insert the Mains plug into the nearest socket.
Filling the Water Tank (13)
1. Remove the Water Tank Lid (12) and fill the
Water Tank (13) to the MAX mark.
2. DO NOT fill the tank above the MAX mark. Lift
the tank up and place it back onto the unit as
shown right:
Making Two Espresso Coffees
1. Press the Power/Single Cup Button (1) once.
The Power/Single Cup Button (1) and the
Double Cup Buttons (7) indicators will flash
and the Digital Display (6) will show three
dashes (see above) whilst the espresso maker
preheats.
2. Once the Power/Single Cup Button (1) and the Double Cup Button (7)
indicators light continuously, the unit is now preheated and the Digital Display
(6) will show the water temperature (92⁰C).

3. Remove the Filter Holder (3) using the Filter Holder Handle (10).
4. Insert the Double Cup Filter (17) and fill with coffee using the Serving Spoon
(16).
5. Use the bottom of the spoon to evenly press the coffee powder tightly, remove
any excess coffee powder from the edge of the filter so the coffee sits about
3mm from the top edge of the filter.
NB Too much coffee in the filter will result in a poor seal and leakage.
6. Once the coffee is in the filter, place one hand on the top
of the Espresso Maker to support the unit and attach the
Filter Holder (3) using the Filter Holder Handle (10) by
holding the handle and placing it in the position then
rotating right to the locked position as shown right:
7. Left: Place two cups onto the Drip Tray as
shown and align them with the Coffee
Nozzle (4).
8. Press the Double Cup Button (7) the indicator light will pulsate and the
machine will start to make espresso coffee. The Digital Display (6) will also
countdown from 32 seconds.
9. Once the indicator light has gone out and the Digital Display (6) has returned
to 92⁰C, the coffee is made and the espresso coffees are ready to serve.
10. After making the coffee, remove the Filter Holder (3) and remove the filter.
Wash both the filter and holder clean in hot water and dry thoroughly.
11. Press the Power/Single Cup Button (1) or the Double Cup Button (7) to
flush the espresso maker clean.
12. Replace the filter and Filter Holder (3) ready for making the next cups of coffee.

Making a Single Espresso Coffee
1. Making one espresso coffee is the same as making two above except the Single
Cup Filter (18) is inserted into the Filter Holder (3).
2. Press the Power/Single Cup Button (1) the indicator light will pulsate and
the machine will start to make espresso coffee. The Digital Display (6) will also
countdown from 18 seconds.
3. Once the indicator light has gone out and the Digital Display (6) has returned
to 92⁰C, the coffee is made and the espresso coffee is ready to serve.
4. Right: Place one cup onto the Drip Tray (15)
when making a single cup of coffee.
5. After making the coffee, remove the Filter Holder (3) and remove the filter.
Wash the filter and holder clean in hot water and dry thoroughly.
6. Press the Power/Single Cup Button (1) or the Double Cup Button (7) to
flush the espresso maker clean.
7. Replace the filter and Filter Holder (3) ready for making the next cups of coffee.
Making a Cappuccino Coffee
1. Prepare an Expresso Coffee as above
but use a larger cup.
2. Fill the Jug (19) with cold milk (4-8⁰C) to
1/3 full.
3. Press the Press the Power/Single Cup
Button (1) once.
4. After the and indicators stop
flashing, press the Steam Warm-Up
Button (8) which will flash whilst the
water is heated for steam.
5. Once button has stopped flashing, the
Digital Display (6) will show 130⁰C
showing that the steam is ready.

6. Place the Steam Nozzle (9) into the milk just below the surface.
7. Rotate the Steam Control (11) anticlockwise to the maximum position to froth
the milk.
8. Return the Steam Control (11) fully clockwise to the minimum position once the
desired amount of frothed milk has been achieved.
9. Pour the frothed milk into the prepared Expresso Coffee to create the
Cappuccino Coffee.
NB the Digital Display (6) will count in seconds and the indicator will pulse
whilst the Steam Control (11) is open.
Making Hot Water
The hot water function can be used to preheat cups, jugs, etc. prior to making the
coffee.
1. Place a cup under the Steam Nozzle (9), press the Power/Single Cup Button (1)
once.
2. After the and indicators have stopped flashing, the Digital Display (6)
will show 92⁰C showing that the hot water is ready.
3. Rotate the Steam Control (11) anticlockwise to the maximum position, the
internal pump will be heard running and hot water will be dispensed out of the
Steam Nozzle (9).
4. Return the Steam Control (11) clockwise to the minimum position once enough
hot water has been dispensed.
NB the Digital Display (6) will count in seconds and the and indicators will
pulse whilst the Steam Control (11) is open.
Notes on Coffee
This Espresso Maker uses ground powdered coffee which is available from most
good supermarkets and coffee retailers.
Do not use instant coffee or similar with this Espresso Maker.
Distance to the surface of pressed coffee powder should be about 3mm away from
the edge of the filter cup (important indicator). Too high or too low will affect the
extraction pressure and effect of coffee. Reduce or increase the amount of coffee
powder accordingly:

Drip Tray Full Indicator (5)
Right: If the Drip Tray Full Indicator (5) rises
through the Drip Tray (15) as shown right,
the drip tray compartment will require
emptying.
Cleaning and Maintenance
• Always unplug the Espresso Maker from the mains
supply and allow to cool before cleaning.
• Do not immerse the Espresso Maker in water or
any other liquids.
• Wipe the body of the Espresso Maker clean with a
clean damp cloth.
• Do not use harsh or abrasive, powders or cleaners.
• Do not clean any part of the Espresso Maker in a dishwasher.
• Remove the Filter Holder (3) and remove the filter. Wash the filter and holder
clean in hot water and dry thoroughly.
• Press the Power/Single Cup Button (1) or the Double Cup Button (7) to
flush the espresso maker clean.
• Rinse the Water Tank (13) clean, dry thoroughly and replace onto the machine.
• Hand wash the glasses in warm soapy water, rinse and dry thoroughly. The
glasses and not dishwasher safe.
Removing Mineral (Calcium) deposits
1. To ensure the normal use of the coffee machine, the internal water channels
need to be descaled, cleaned after 2-3 months of use.
2. Pour water and descaling agent into the water tank up to MAX capacity (water
and descaling agent ratio is 4:1 or follow the instructions with the descaling
agent). Citric acid can be used instead of the descaling agent in a water and citric
acid ratio of 100:3.
3. Press the button, wait for the and indicator lights to stay on, press
the button, as to make a double cup of coffee (no powder).
4. Rotate the Steam Control (11) fully anticlockwise for 2 minutes (measured on
the Digital Display (6)) of hot water from the Steam Nozzle (9) then turn the
Steam Control (11) off to allow the descaling agent to stay in the machine for at
least 15 minutes.
5. Repeat steps 3 & 4 for 3 more times.
