ADDITIONAL SAFETY INFORMATION
This appliance is intended for use in domestic households only,
it must not be used for commercial use.
Hot liquid or steam is emitted from the brewing head and
steam nozzle during operation.
Do not cover the Espresso Maker.
Allow to the Espresso Maker to cool fully before storing.
The surfaces of the filter holder and steam nozzle will become
hot during use. Do not touch always use the handle.
Ensure that the Espresso Machine is used in an open, well-
ventilated area well away from other appliances and not near
or under surfaces that are heat sensitive or those that may be
damaged by steam.
Only use this Espresso Maker with the accessories provided.
This appliance can cause personal injury if misused.
DO NOT place anything on top of the appliance.
Ensure that the water level in the water tank does not exceed

Before first Use of Your Espresso Maker
Please read these operating instructions thoroughly and keep them in a safe place
for future reference.
IMPORTANT in hard water areas it is highly recommended to use demineralised or
filtered water to avoid calcium build up which will prolong the life and prevent
damage to the machine.
Cleaning Your Espresso Maker before First Use
NB if the Water Tank (9) is overfilled there is a drainage outlet release any excess
water, this will flow through the upper housing and down into the drip tray.
1. Place the Espresso Maker on a solid, level, heat resistant
surface clear of all obstructions.
2. Remove the Water Tank Lid (7) from the Espresso Maker by
twisting anticlockwise until it comes loose.
3. Fill the Water Tank (9) with water using the Cafetiere (15)
provided up to the 4 cup mark (240ml).
Do not over-fill as this can cause the water to erupt.
4. Replace the Water Tank Lid (7) by turning clockwise until secure.
5. Install the Filter Holder (14) and Mesh Filter (12). Do not
put any coffee in the filter at this stage.
Place one hand on the top of the Espresso Maker to
support the unit and attach the Filter Holder (14) by
inserting into the central cavity of the Espresso Maker, in
line with . Turn the Filter Holder (14) to the right until it
is in the locked position .
6. Place the Cafetiere (15) onto the Drip Tray (8) under the attached Filter Holder
(14).
7. Insert the Mains plug into the nearest socket.

8. Turn the Control Switch (2) to the Espresso Setting (3), the Indicator Light
(4) will light up orange and hot water will start to fill the Cafetiere (15) up to the
4 cup mark.
9. Turn the Control Switch (2) to the Off Setting (6) and wait for 5 seconds.
10. To clean the Steam Wand (1), move the Steam Wand (1) over the Drip Tray (8).
11. Turn the Control Switch (2) to the Steam Setting (5), the internal pump will
be heard running and steam will be emitted from the Steam Wand (1). After 2
minutes return the Control Switch (2) to the Off Setting (6).
12. Remove the Steam Wand Cover (14). When cool wipe the Steam Wand (1) with
a cloth. Repeat this process 2-3 times.
13. The Espresso Maker is now cleaned and ready to use.
Using Your Espresso Maker
1. Unplug from the mains socket.
2. Place the Espresso Maker on a solid, level, heat resistant surface clear of all
obstructions.
Filling the Water Tank
Remove the Water Tank Lid (7) from the Espresso Maker by twisting anticlockwise
and lifting until it comes loose.
1. Fill the Water Tank (9) with water using the Cafetiere (15)
provided. See below:
For 1 Espresso Coffee fill to the 2 mark (120ml) on the
Cafetiere (15).
For 2 Espresso Coffees fill the 4 mark (240ml) on the
Cafetiere (15).
Do not over-fill as this can cause the water to erupt from the
Water Tank (9).
2. Replace the Water Tank Lid (7) by turning clockwise until secure.
3. Insert the Mains plug into the nearest socket.
Making Espresso Coffee
1. Insert the Mesh Filter (12) into the Filter Holder (14) and, using the Serving
Spoon (11) fill the Filter Holder (14) with coffee (it is recommended to use
coarse coffee).

For 1 cup of Espresso fill to the 2 mark.
For 2 cups of Espresso fill to the 4 mark.
2. Use the bottom of the Serving Spoon (11) to evenly press the coffee powder
tightly, remove any excess coffee powder from the top of the Mesh Filter (12).
NB Too much coffee in the filter will result in a poor seal and leakage.
3. Once the coffee is in the filter, place one hand on the top
of the Espresso Maker to support the unit and attach the
Filter Holder (14) by inserting into the central cavity of the
Espresso Maker, indicated by turn the Filter Holder (14)
to the right until it is in the locked position .
4. Place the Cafetiere (15) onto the Drip Tray (8) and align
beneath the Filter Holder (14).
5. Turn the Control Switch (2) to the Espresso Setting (3), the Indicator Light (4)
will light up orange and hot water will start to fill the Cafetiere (15) according to
your desired cup size.
6. Once the Cafetiere (15) has been filled with Espresso Coffee to the desired mark
turn the Control Switch (2) to the Off Setting (6) for a minimum of 5 seconds.
Your Espresso Coffee is ready to serve.
7. To release any pressure left in the tank, place a suitable Jug under the Steam
Wand (1), replace the Steam Wand Cover (13), and turn the Control Switch (2)
to the Steam Setting (5) until the pressure has been fully released. Return
the Control Switch (2) to the Off Setting (6).
Making a Cappuccino Coffee
1. Prepare an Expresso Coffee as above and pour the Espresso Coffee into a suitable
cup.
2. Fill a suitable Jug with cold milk (4-8⁰C). Whole milk is recommended.
3. Remove the Steam Wand Cover (13).
4. Place the Steam Wand (1) into the Jug just below the milk’s surface.
5. Turn the Control Switch (2) to the Steam Setting (5). This will begin to froth
the milk.

6. Once the desired level of frothed milk has been achieved turn the Control Switch
(2) to the Off Setting (6).
7. Pour the frothed milk into the prepared Expresso Coffee to create the Cappuccino
Coffee. Remember to clean the steam wand with a damp cloth.
Note on Coffee
This Espresso Maker uses ground powdered coffee which is available from most
good supermarkets and coffee retailers.
Do not use instant coffee or similar with this Espresso Maker.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Always unplug the Espresso Maker from the mains
supply and allow to cool before cleaning.
Do not immerse the Espresso Maker in water or any
other liquids.
Wipe the body of the Espresso Maker clean with a
clean damp cloth.
Do not use harsh or abrasive, powders or cleaners.
Do not clean any part of the Espresso Maker in a
dishwasher.
Remove the Filter Holder (14) by placing one hand on the
top of the Espresso Maker to support the unit. detach by
turning from the locked position towards the Symbol.
Use the filter grip to hold the Mesh Filter (12) in place,
empty the used coffee from the filter, when cool remove the
filter. Wash the filter and holder in warm soapy water and
dry thoroughly.
Descaling your Espresso Maker
1. To ensure the normal use of the coffee machine, the internal water channels
need to be descaled and cleaned after 2-3 months of use.
2. Place the Espresso Maker on a solid, level, heat resistant
surface clear of all obstructions.
3. Remove the Water Tank Lid (7) from the Espresso Maker by
twisting anticlockwise until loose.
4. Fill the Water Tank (9) with water and descaler using the
Cafetiere (15) up to the 4 mark. (Use a descaling agent
according to the descaling products instructions).
5. Replace the Water Tank Lid (7) by turning clockwise until
secure.
6. Insert the mains plug into the nearest socket.
7. Insert the Filter Holder (14) and Mesh Filter (12).
8. Turn the Control Switch (2) to the Espresso Setting (3), the Indicator Light
(4) will light up orange, allow the hot water/descaler to fill the Cafetiere (15) up

to the 2 cup mark only.
9. Turn the Control Switch (2) to the Off Setting (6) and wait for 5 seconds.
10. Move the Steam Wand (1) over a suitable Jug.
11. Turn the Control Switch (2) to the Steam Setting (5), the internal pump will
be heard running and steam will be emitted from the Steam Wand (1), make
sure the Steam Wand Cover (13) is attached. After 2 minutes return the Control
Switch (2) to the Off Setting (6). Allow the descaler to remain in the unit for 15
minutes. Repeat the descaling steps 2 more times, do not refill the Water Tank
(9). Empty the Drip Tray (8) as necessary.
12. To release any pressure left in the tank turn the Control Switch (2) to the Steam
Setting (5) and allow to steam to release until all water/descaler, and steam has
been removed.
13. Turn the Control Switch (2) to the Off Setting (6). Unplug the Espresso
Maker from the mains socket.
Rinsing your Espresso Maker (after descaling)
Follow the steps for Cleaning your Espresso Maker before First Use’ and repeat
twice.
