SIPServerSettings

•Domainname–Ifavailable,enterthepublicdomainname.ThedomainnamewillbeshownaspartoftheSIPaddress

whencallingotheraccounts.Formoreinformation,seeAboutSIPAddressesonpage34.

•Registraraddress–EntertheSIPserver’sregistraraddress.ThisistopointouttheSIPregistrarwithwhichtheaccount

shouldregisteritself.TheSIPregistraristhepartofthePBXthatkeepstrackofalltheextensions.

Important

TheregistraraddressshouldbeanIPv4address.Theproduct’sVoIPcapabilitiescurrentlydonotincludesupportforIPv6.

TransportSettings

•EnableSIPS–SelecttouseSecureSessionInitiationProtocol(SIPS).SIPSusestheTLStransportmodetoencryptthe

trafc.IfyouenableSIPS,youcannotselectanyothertransportmodethanTLS.

•Transportmode–SelecttheSIPtransportmodefortheaccount:UDP,TCP,orTLS.

•AllowportupdatemessagesthroughMWI–Messagewaitingindicator(MWI)notiestheuserofchangesinthe

portsettings.

ThedifferencebetweenSIPS(EnableSIPS)andSIPoverTLS(Transportmode–TLS)isthatSIPSensuresthateachmessagetransfer

isencrypted,whileTLSonlyensuresencryptionoftheSIPtrafctothenextnodeinthenetwork

SIPoverUDPTransportmode–UDPisgenerallyfasterasthemessagewillbesentwithoutthehandshakesthatSIPS,SIPoverTLS,

andSIPoverTCPTransportmode–TCPoffer.

ProxySettings

ASIPproxymanagesregistrationandroutingrequestsfromcallingdevices.TheSIPproxycommunicateswiththeprivatebranch

exchange(PBX)inordertondaroutethatacallhastotaketoreachadevicethatissetinadifferentlocationorsite.

Address-EntertheSIPproxyserver'saddress.

Username-EnterausernamefortheSIPproxyserverifrequired.

Password-EnterapasswordfortheSIPproxyserverifrequired.

MakeTestCalls

TomakesurethatcallscanbemadefromtheAxisproduct,youcanmakeatestcall:

1.GotoSetup>VoIP>AccountSettings.

2.FromthelistontheAccountSettingspage,selecttheaccounttomakethetestcallfrom.

3.Inthetestcalleld,enteravalidSIPaddresstotheotherdevice.Usetheformatsip:<extension>@<domain>or

sips:<extension>@<domain>.Formoreinformationandexamples,seeAboutSIPAddressesonpage34.

4.ClickTestcall.Formoreinformation,seeTransportSettingsonpage33.
