Introduction
The Fluke NORMA 4000/5000 Power Analyzer is designed for the measuring of currents
and voltages for up to three different channels. The Power Analyzer calculates rms
values, real, apparent and reactive power, and other derived values. The accuracy is not
affected by the wave form, frequency, or phase shift. Harmonics may be displayed to a
maximum of half the sampling frequency.
Default settings are available for loading quick setups. In addition, you can define more
specific settings to save and load as required (see, "Configuration" in Chapter 7). The
Power Analyzer begins a measurement as soon as the configuration is set and the device
is switched on.
Prior to Measuring
Connect Power Analyzer to the mains (power) socket.
1. Check the measuring connections at the Power Analyzer.
2. Switch on the Power Analyzer.
Measuring with Default Configuration
If the default configuration is acceptable, no additional steps are required.
Ensure that the factory configuration is loaded (see, "Load Configuration" in Chapter 7).
Measuring with User-Defined Configuration
If custom analysis is required, load the respective configuration (see "Configuration" in
Chapter 7).
Note
If measurements with an external shunt or probe are required, make sure
that there is no signal connected at the direct current inputs. Signals on
both inputs (external- and direct-current input) can damage the
measurement unit.
