• Read and familiarise yourself with all operating instructions
before using this 9 Inch Desk Fan.
• Before plugging your unit into the mains, visually check that
the unit is intact and has not suffered any transit damage.

separate remote-control system or any other device.
• Check that the voltage indicated on the data plate
corresponds with that of the local network before
connecting the appliance to the mains power supply.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years
and above and persons with reduced physical sensory or
mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if
they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the
hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by

Description of Parts
Before first use of Your Desk Fan
Remove all packing materials and discard responsibly.
Ensure all parts are present - see Description of Parts above.
Check that there is no damage to the mains cable or product.
Assembling Your Desk Fan
1. Remove the Rear Guard Fixing Nut (4) by unscrewing
Anticlockwise.
2. Note the Rear Guard (5) locating pins on the motor
housing.
3. Place the Rear Guard (5) over the two pins on the motor
housing (arrowed left) and attached it using the Rear
Guard Fixing Nut (4) by screwing it on clockwise. Ensure
the Rear Guard (5) is fitted with the Carry Handle (11) at
the top.
4. Remove the protective sleeving from the Motor
Spindle (10), push the Fan Blade (3) onto the Motor
Spindle (10) in the direction of the arrow shown.

5. Remove the small Guard Nut and Screw (2) from the
Front Guard (1).
6. Move the Guard Fastening Clips (12) at the edge
of the Front Guard (1) outwards.
7. Hang the Front Guard (1) by its hook over the top of
the Rear Guard (5).
8. Bring the Front Guard (1) down to meet the Rear
Guard (5) and push the Guard Fastening Clips (12)
inwards until the Front Guard (1) is fastened to the
Rear Guard (5).
9. Finally fit the Guard Nut and Screw (2) through
the holes in the bottom edge of the guards and
tighten with a suitable pozidrive screwdriver (not
supplied).
The Guard Nut and Screw (2) must be fitted so
that the guard cannot be removed accidentally.
Operating Your Desk Fan
Place the fan in the desired position ensuring that it is stable. If desired, the fan
guard can be tilted up and down to alter the direction of the airflow. NB do not
adjust the fan whilst connected to the mains and/or switched on. Press the ‘0’
button on the base to ensure the fan is off. Insert the mains plug into the nearest
socket. Press the ‘1’ button for the low speed. Press the ‘2’ button for the high
speed. NB Press the ‘0’ button to switch the fan off. To enable your fan to oscillate
from side to side Press the oscillation control (7). Pull the control up to stop the
fan oscillating.

Care and Use of your Fan
Ensure that the fan is switched off and it is not connected to the
mains supply before cleaning.
Wipe the fan body clean with a clean, soft damp cloth.
Do not immerse the fan or its cord in water or any other liquid.
Non-Rewireable Mains Plug
If your appliance is supplied with a non-rewireable plug fitted to the mains lead
and should the fuse needed replacing, you must use an ASTA approved one
(conforming to BS 1362 of the same rating). Never use a plug with the fuse cover
missing. If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician.
If you need to remove the plug -DISCONNECT FROM THE MAINS- and then cut it
off the mains lead and immediately dispose of it safely. Never attempt to reuse
the plug or insert it into a socket outlet as there is a danger of electric shock.
