OPERATING THE OVEN

Broil

Broiling is a method of cooking tender cuts of meat by direct heat under the broil element of the oven.

The high heat cooks quickly and gives a rich, brown outer appearance. Broil mode is best for meats, ﬁsh,

and poultry up to 1” thick. Always preheat the oven for 5-10 minutes before broiling. How to set the oven

for broiling:

1. Press or to select “Broil” and then press “start/OK”.

2. You can press or to select “Hi” or “Lo”.

3. Press “Start/OK” to save the changes.

4. If you want to cancel broiling, press “Cancel” for 3 seconds.

The broil pan and insert used together allow dripping grease to drain and be kept away from the high

heat of th

e oven broiler. DO NOT use the broil pan without the insert.DO NOT cover the broil pan insert

with foil. The exposed grease could catch ﬁre.

To set the oven to Broil:

Place the broiler pan insert on the broiler pan. Then place the food on the broiler pan insert.

Arrange the interior oven rack and place the broiler pan on the rack. Be sure to center the broiler pan

and position directly under the broil burner. If preheating the broil burner ﬁrst, position the broiler pan

after the broil burner is preheated.
