radius-server: authentication
authentication enable
Use the authentication enable command to designate the RADIUS server entry as an authentication server. Use the no form
of this command to disable the entry as an authentication server.
Syntax
authentication enable
no authentication enable
Examples
The following command designates entry “RADsrvr1” as an authentication server:
console> radius-server (RADsrvr1)> authentication enable

authentication port
Use the authentication port command to specify the RADIUS server entry’s port number to use for authentication requests.
The default RADIUS authentication port is 1812.
Syntax
authentication port <port-number>
• port-number – Specifies the port to use for authentication (Range: 1-65535).
Example
The following command specifies 1812 as the RADIUS server port for entry “RADsrvr1”:
console> radius-server (RADsrvr1)> authentication port 1812

authentication protocol
Use the authentication protocol command to set the Authentication Protocol type for the RADIUS server entry. The available
options are: Password Authentication Protocol (pap), Challenge-Handshake Authentication Protocol (chap) and Microsoft
Challenge-Handshake Authentication Protocol (ms-chap).
Syntax
authentication protocol {pap | chap | ms-chap}
Examples
The following command sets CHAP as the Authentication Protocol type for entry “RADsrvr1”:
console> radius-server (RADsrvr1)> authentication protocol chap
