Using Iron-On Fabric Tape
1.
Load the iron-on fabric tape cartridge
into your label printer.
2.
Set the print density to 4 or 5.
x
If the printed result is not clear, adjust
the print density setting accordingly.
3.
After the tape feeds out of the printer,
use fabric shears to cut it off near the
tape outlet.
Important!
Iron-on fabric tape is specially processed.
Because of this, the printer's tape cutter
may not be able to cut it or may become
damaged by trying to cut it. Whenever
printing on iron-on fabric tape, always select
NONE for the MARGINS setting, or UNCUT
for the tape cut mode. If you are using Label
Printing Software to control the printer
connected from your computer, select No
Cut for the Cut Style setting of the Label
Software Properties. Be sure to use fabric
shears to cut iron-on fabric tape.
Applying the Iron-On
Fabric Tape to Material
x
Set the iron to a temperature of 160 to
180°C (320 to 356°F). An iron temperature
that is too low will result in improper
adhesion, which may cause the tape to
come detached later. Insuffi cient ironing
time and/or weak ironing pressure
can cause the fabric tape to buckle or
become detached.
x
When using a steam iron, be sure to
remove all water and select the iron's dry
setting.
x
Use an ironing cloth when applying an
iron-on fabric tape.
1.
With the printed side of the fabric tape
facing upwards (so you can see it),
place it onto the material to which you
want to apply it.
2.
Place an ironing cloth on the fabric tape
so the tape is completely covered.
x
Use an ironing cloth that is about as
thick as a handkerchief.
3.
Avoiding the steam holes of the iron,
hold a smooth level part of the iron on
top of the ironing cloth without moving
it for about 15 to 30 seconds. Press
down on the iron using your weight.
x
You can ensure better adhesion by
repeating the above step two or three
times.
Ironing cloth
4.
Remove the ironing cloth and confi rm
that the edges of the tape are securely
affi xed.
x
If the tape is not affi xed securely, return
to step 2 of the above procedure and
apply the iron again.
