Drive Belt
NOTE:ToreplacetheDriveBelt,you mustfirstfollowAugerBelt
instructions.Replacethedrivebelt beforereassemblingthenewauger
belt.
1. Removehairpinclipand pivotrodfromunit. SeeFigure15.
2. Maneuvercontrolarmout anddisconnectdrivecable.
3. Pullidlerpulleyon right handsideout, releasingtensionon drive
belt. Removedrivebelt from idlerpulleyand transmissionpulley.

4. Rotatecontrolarm in orderto maneuverbelt fromunit. Remove
beltand replacewithnewbelt.
NOTE: Besureto maintainpositionof the multi-speedpulley
assemblyso thatthe belt Iocatorpinin thetop position.
5. Reassemblein theexactoppositeorder.
6. Afterreassemblyis completed,be sureto adjustthe augercable.

manual.
Checking Oil Level
Before operatingsnowthrower,checkthe oil levelbyfollowingsteps
below.
1. Withengineonlevelground,oil
mustbeto FULLmarkon dipstick.
2. Stopengineandwaitseveral
minutesbeforecheckingoillevel.
Removeoil fill cap anddipstick.
3. Wipedipstickclean,insertit intooil
fill holeandtightensnugly.

4. Removedipstickandcheck.If oil is not upto the FULLmarkon
dipstick,addoil.
Changing Oil
Changeengineoil afterfirsttwo hoursof operationandevery25hours
thereafter.Inorder to changeoil,you will haveto firstdrain the used
engineoil fromthe engineandthen refillwithfreshoil.
1. Drainoilwhileengineis warm.Removeoil drainpluglocatedatthe bot-
tomof therecoilstarterof theengine.Catchoilina suitablecontainer.
2. Whenengineis drainedof alloil, replacedrain plugsecurely.
3. Removethe dipstickfromthe oilfill. For locationof theoil fill,see
Figure7.Pourfreshoilslowlythroughtheplug. Replacedipstick.
4. Checkandmakesurethatthe levelof oil is upto the FULLmarkon
the dipstick.
NOTE:Althoughmulti-viscosityoils (5W30,10W30,etc.)improve
startingincold weather,theycouldalso resultin higheroilconsump-
tionwhen usedabove32° R Checkyoursnowthrower'sengineoil
levelmorefrequentlyto avoidpossibleenginedamagefrom running
lowon oil. Seethe ViscosityChartin Figure17.
