washcycle.Ifyou areusingSmartDispenseTM, leavethe
coverofthe manualdispenseropenbeforestartingthe
cycle.
Forthe manualdispenser,Cascade®Automatic
DishwashingDetergentshavebeenapproved.Youmay use
powder,liquid,gelpacketsortabletsinthisdispenser.Itis
importantto keeppowdereddetergentsandtabletsfresh
anddry sothey don'tloseeffectiveness.Therefore,donot
put detergentintothe manualdispenseruntil you areready
to washdishes.
Forheavilysoiledloads,usea bit moredetergent.Forwater
temperaturesabove140°F,useabit lessdetergent.

Theamountof detergentto usedependsonwhetheryour
waterishardor soft.Withhardwater,you needextra
detergent.Withsoftwater,you needlessdetergent.
Protectyourdishesanddishwasherby contactingyour
waterdepartmentand askinghow hardyour wateris.
Twelveor moregrainsis extremelyhardwater.Awater
softeneris recommended.Withoutit, limecan buildup in
thewatervalve,whichcouldstickwhileopenandcause
flooding.Toomuchdetergentwithsoft watercan cause
a permanentcloudinessof glassware,calledetching.
Usethe informationinthe tablebelowas a guideto
determinethe amountof automaticdishwasherdetergent
to placeinthe dispenser.
Whenusingautomaticdishwashingdetergentpackets
ortablets,simplyplaceoneinthe mainwashsectionand
closethe cover.
NOTE;Usinga detergentthat isnot specificallgdesigned
for dishwasherswill causethedishwasherto fillwithsuds.
Duringoperation,thesesudswillspillout ofthe dishwasher
vents,coveringthekitchenfloorandmakingthefloorwet.
Becauseso manydetergentcontainerslookalike,store
thedishwasherdetergentina separatespacefromall
othercleaners.Showanyonewho may usethe dishwasher
thecorrectdetergentandwhereit isstored.
Whiletherewill benolastingdamageto the dishwasher,
yourdisheswill not getcleanusinga dishwashing
detergentthat isnotformulatedto workwith dishwashers.
