Food probe
The food probe allows the temperature
to be monitored precisely during a
cooking programme.
How it works
The metal tip of the food probe must be
fully inserted into the centre of the food
all the way to the handle. There is a
temperature sensor in the metal tip
which measures the core temperature
of the food during cooking.
The core temperature set will depend
on how well cooked you want your
meat to be and on the type of meat.
The temperature can be set between
30and 99°C.
The cooking duration will depend on a
number of different factors. The higher
the temperature in the oven compart-
ment and the moisture, where applic-
able, and the thinner the food, the
quicker the set core temperature will be
reached.
The core temperature values are sent
via a radio signal from the transmitter in
the handle of the food probe via the re-
ceiver antenna to the combination
steam oven’s electronic module as
soon as the food with the food probe is
placed in the oven compartment.
Efficient radio transmission is only guar-
anteed if the oven door is closed. If the
door is opened during a cooking pro-
cess, e.g. to baste the food, radio signal
transmission is interrupted.
It will only resume when the door is
closed. It will take a few seconds before
the current core temperature appears
again on the display.
Damage due to high temperat-
ures.
The temperature sensor of the food
probe will be damaged at temperat-
ures over 100°C.
The food probe should be reinserted
in its holder when it is not being
used.
When to use the food probe
Some automatic programmes and spe-
cial applications will prompt you to use
the food probe.
You can also use the food probe with
User programmes and with the follow-
ing functions:
- Fan plus
- Conventional heat
- Combi Fan plus
- Combi Conventional
- Steam cooking
- Intensive bake
- Fan grill
- Cake plus
