#1 Does this connect to an app in my phone to control it? I can’t figure out if it does.
The SmartCode 260 is a stand-alone lock that cannot be used by an app on your smartphone. Please see our Halo and Aura locks, which can be programmed via the Kwikset App.
#2 Installed Kwikset 260 yesterday, was fine, but now when the code is entered, it does not completely unlock. Instead of one continuous movement to unlock the door, the lock is doing 3 incomplete movements of the bolt, which does not unlock the door.
It sounds like your lock is jamming. Please try the steps below to help fix this:
1. Check the door alignment and ensure that the strike pocket is at least 1" deep. 2. Perform the door rehanding per page 19 of the installation guide linked here: https://manualsfile.com/product/k3mzpl9fxdh.html?page=19# 3. Test the lock with the door open, then test the lock with the door closed and make adjustments if needed.
#3 I currently have the Kwikset Halo smart deadbolt lock and to me, it is quiet loud when the motor locks/unlocks. Just curious to know if this model here is loud too?
The Halo lock works swiftly to lock and unlock the deadbolt quickly with minimal noise. To ensure the lock is working correctly, please check your door alignment and that the door jamb hole is at least one inch deep for the latch to fully extend.
