MAINTENANCE
HOW TO REPLACE THE FUSE
Ifthe fuse isblown, the engine willnot start.The location ofthe fuse
is next to the battery. Remove the fuse and replace with a
automotive fuse (Figure 34).

HOW TO REPLACE THE LIGHT BULB

Raise the tractor hood.
Turn the light socket untilthe tabs onthe socket align withthe
notches in the bezel (Figure 35). Remove the light socket.
Turn the light bulb and remove the bulb.
3. Install a new light bulb. Alignthe light socket with the notches
in the bezel and turn the light socket to lock in position.

HOW TO CLEAN THE MOWER HOUSING
A WARNING: Before you clean the mower housing,
stop the engine and disconnect the wire to the spark
plug.
Grass and other debris on top of the mower housing can keep the
belt from working correctly. For safety and correct operation,
frequently clean the top of the mower housing. Remove grass and
debris from around the pulleys and other moving parts.
1. Move the lever for the blade rotation control to the ENGAGE
position.
2. Clean the top of the mower housing.
3. Move the lever for the blade rotation control to the
DISENGAGE position.
4. Again clean the top ofthe mower housing.
5. After you cut the grass, clean the bottom oftha mower housing.
STORAGE (over 30 days)
At the end of each year, prepare the unitfor storage as follows.

For storage information, see the the engine manufacturer's
instructions.
THE BATTERY
1. Remove the battery.
2. Clean the battery terminals of any deposits.
3. Charge the battery. Sea the instructions on =How To Prepare
And Charge The Battery'.
4. Store the battery in a cool, dry place.
NOTE: After a long time in storage, charge the battery.
THE FUEL SYSTEM

WARNING: Do not drain the gasoline inside a build-
ing or near a fire. Do not smoke because the fumes
from the fuel can cause an explosion.

1. Start the engine.
2. Run the engine untilthe fuel tank and the carburetor are out of
fuel and the engine stops.
3. Do not leave fuel inthe fuel tank or the carburetor. The fuel can
damage the function of the fuel system. Some models have a
fuel drain (Figure 36). Hold a cloth under the fuel drain. Push
the fuel drain untilthe carburetor is empty.
4. After storage, make sure you use fresh fuel

1. Clean the dirt and grass from the engine.
2. Clean the mower housing.
