OPERATION
BEVEL CUTTING (FIG.12)
FIG. 12
1. Secure workpiece with clamps.
2. Draw a line of cut on the workpiece.
3. Adjust and secure the saw at desired
bevel angle.
4. Attach the battery pack.
5. Rest the front edge of the base on the
workpiece. Depress the lock-off button
and trigger switch to start the saw.
Allow the saw to reach full speed before
attempting to make a cut.
WARNING:
Because of the
increased amount of blade engagement in
the workpiece and decreased stability of
the base, blade binding may occur. Keep
the saw steady and the base firmly on the
workpiece.
6. After completing the cut, release the
trigger switch and allow the blade to
come to a complete stop. After the
blade has stopped, remove the saw
from the workpiece.
POCKET CUTTING (FIG.13)
FIG. 13
1. Adjust the bevel setting to 0° and tighten
the bevel-lock knob.
2. Set the depth of cut according to the
thickness of the material to be cut and
tighten the depth-adjustment knob.
3. Attach the battery pack.
4. Rest the front edge of the base against
the workpiece, with the rear of the
handle raised, so that the blade does
not touch the workpiece.
5. Raise the lower blade guard and hold it
open by the lower-blade-guard lever.
6. Press the lock-off button and depress
the trigger switch to start the saw.
7. Allow the blade to reach full speed, then
pivot the saw on the front edge of the
base to cut into the workpiece.
8. As the blade starts cutting the material,
release the lower-blade-guard lever.
9. When the base of the saw rests flat on
the surface being cut, proceed cutting
in a forward direction to the end of the
cut.
10. Release the trigger switch and allow the
blade to come to a complete stop.
WARNING:
Allow the blade to
come to a complete stop before lifting the
saw from the cut. Also, never pull the saw
backward, since the blade will climb out of
the material and KICKBACK will occur.
11. Lift the saw from the workpiece.
