Turn switch “OFF” and always remove plug from the power source before trouble shooting.
Troubleshooting
PROBLEM CAUSE SOLUTION
Saw will not start
Power cord is not plugged in. Plug saw in.
Fuse or circuit breaker tripped. Replace fuse or reset tripped circuit breaker.
Cord damaged.
Have cord replaced by an Authorized SKILSAW
Service Center or Service Station.
Burned out switch.
Have switch replaced by an Authorized SKILSAW
Service Center or Service Station.
Blade does not
come up to speed
Extension cord too light or too long. Replace with adequate cord.
Low supply voltage. Contact your electric company.
Excessive vibration
Failure to tighten bevel lock handle. See “Getting To Know Your Table Saw” section.
Blade out of balance. Discard Blade and use different blade.
Saw not mounted securely to stand
or workbench.
Tighten all mounting hardware, See “Mounting
the Table Saw” section.
Arbor Nut not tight. See “Assembly” section, “Changing The Blade.
Cut binds, burns, stalls
motor when ripping
Dull blade with improper tooth set. Sharpen or replace blade.
Warped board.
Make sure concave or hollow side is facing
“DOWN” and feed slowly.
Rip fence not parallel to blade.
See “Adjustments” section “Aligning
Rip Fence.
Riving knife out of alignment.
See “Adjustments” section, “Riving knife
alignment.
Cut not true at 90°
or 45° positions
Alignment screws not adjusted
properly.
See “Adjustments” section, “Adjusting Blade
Parallel to Miter Gauge Slots.
Plastic melts or blade
tips overheat when
cutting
Feedrate to high. Slow feedrate through blade.
Blades tip not sharp Sharpen or replace blade
Tilt lock handle
elevation wheel
hard to move
Bevel lock handle not loosened when
making tilt adjustment.

Circuit Breaker Trips
Circuit breaker trips repeatedly
while cutting.
