INTERLOCKS AND RELAYS
Loose or damaged wiring may cause your
tractor to run poorly, stop running, or pre-
vent it from starting.
° Check wiring. See electrical wiring dia-
gram in the Repair Parts section.
TO REPLACE FUSE
Replace with t5 amp automotive-type
plug-in fuse. The fuse holder is located
behind the dash.
TO REMOVE HOOD AND GRILL ASSEM-
BLY
Raise hood°
, Unsnap headlight wire connector.
Stand in front of tractor. Grasp hood at
sides, tilt toward engine and lift off of
tractor.
To replace, reverse above procedure.

Maintenance, repair, or replacement of
the emission control devices and systems,
which are being done at the customers
expense, may be performed by any non-
road engine repair establishment or indi-
vidual. Warranty repairs must be per-
formed by an authorized engine
manufacturer's service outlet.
TO ADJUST THROTTLE CONTROL
CABLE
The throttle control has been preset at the
factory and adjustment should not be nec-
essary. Check adjustment as described
below before loosening cable. !f adjust-
ment is necessary, proceed as follows:
With engine not running, move throttle
control lever to fast position.
Check that swivel is against stop If it is
not, loosen cable clamp screw and pull
cable back until swivel is against stop_
Tighten cable clamp screw securely.
TO ADJUST CHOKE CONTROL
The choke control has been preset at the
factory and adjustment should not be nec-
essary. Check adjustment as described
below before toosening cable, tf adjust-
ment is necessary, proceed as follows:
With engine not running, move choke
control (located on dash panel) to full
choke position.
Loosen knob and remove cover assem-
bly from air cleaner.
° Choke should be closed. If it is not,
loosen casing clamp screw and move
choke cable until choke is completely
closed. Tighten casing clamp screw se-
curely.
° Replace air cleaner cover assembly
and tighten knob°
TO ADJUST CARBURETOR
The carburetor has been preset at the fac-
tory and adjustment should not be neces-
sary. However, minor adjustment may be
required to compensate for differences in
fuel, temperature, altitude or load° If the
carburetor does need adjustment, pro-
ceed as follows:
In general, turning the mixture screw In
(clockwise) decreases the supply of 1uel
to the engine giving a leaner fuel/air mix-
ture. Turning the mixture screw out
(counterclockwise) increases the supply
of fuel to the engine giving a richer fue!/air
mlxture
IMPORTANT: Damage to the needles
and the seats in the carburetor may result
if screw is turned in too tight.
