5.5 Tips for ideal toasting results
1. Different types of bread have varying moisture content. Therefore, the same toast darkness
setting can produce different results.
2. For bread that is slightly dry, use a lower toast darkness setting.
3. For fresh bread or whole grain bread, use a higher toast darkness setting.
4. Bread with an irregular surface requires a higher toast darkness setting.
5. Thick bread slices need more time for toasting; it may even be necessary to toast the bread
a second time.
6. Cut rolls in half before toasting.
7. If you toast only one slice, please select a low toast darkness setting.
8. If you toast several slices one after the other, the bread will be somewhat darker at the
same toast darkness setting.
9. To toast frozen bread, waffles, etc. please use the thaw button.
10. To warm rolls, please use the bun warmer.
6 Cleaning and Maintenance
This chapter provides you with important notices with regard to cleaning and maintaining the
device. Please observe the notices to prevent damages due to cleaning the device incorrectly
and to ensure trouble-free operation.
6.1 Safety information
Attention
Please observe the following safety notices, before you commence with cleaning the device:
The device must be cleaned and food residues must be removed at regular intervals. If the
device is not maintained in a clean condition, this will have a detrimental effect on the
service life of the device and can also result in a dangerous condition in the device as well
as in the growth of fungus and bacteria. Unplug the device before cleaning.
The device is hot after it is used. There is a danger of burns! Wait until the device has
cooled down.
Clean the device after use as soon as it has cooled down. Waiting longer periods of time
unnecessarily complicates cleaning and can make it impossible in extreme cases.
Excessive accumulations of dirt can even damage the device under certain circumstances.
Remaining food leftovers can catch fire during next heating.
If dampness penetrates into the device, this can damage the electronic components. Please
ensure that no liquid can enter the interior of the device through the ventilation slots.
Do not use any aggressive or abrasive cleaning agents or solvents.
Do not scrape off stubborn dirt with hard items.
Never immerse the device or its plug into water. Liquid is not allowed to come in contact
with parts of the device.
