4. Operation
4.2.3 Cold Start
Upon completion of the following procedure, the UPS will support the load from battery power.
1. Conrm the battery is connected. Turn on any external battery cabinet breakers (if applicable).
2. Turn ON the Output breaker.
3. Press the Cold Start button located on the rear of 25kVA to 60kVA UPS models and on the front of 80kVA to 100kVA
models. The inverter will perform a slow startup and build up to nominal voltage. Upon completion, the UPS will
transfer to Battery Mode and support the load.
4. Once utility power is restored and stabilized, turn ON the Bypass breaker and Main Input breaker. The UPS will
transfer to Online Mode or ECO Mode (if enabled).
5. Conrm no active alarms are present.
4.2.4 Transfer to Maintenance Bypass Mode
Upon completion of the following procedure, the UPS will shut down. However, power will continue to be supplied to the
output terminal block.
1. Remove the Maintenance Bypass breaker cover on the rear of the UPS by removing the two (2) mounting screws. The
UPS will transfer to Bypass Mode automatically. Conrm the Bypass LED is illuminated before proceeding (you may
hear an audible alarm).
2. Turn ON the Maintenance Bypass breaker.
3. Turn OFF the Output breaker.
4. Turn OFF the Main Input breaker (you may hear an audible alarm).
5. Turn OFF the Bypass breaker. The UPS will power down shortly afterwards.
6. Turn OFF the Battery breaker from the external battery cabinet (if applicable). The load is now powered through
Maintenance Bypass.
4.2.5 Transfer from Maintenance Bypass Mode to AC Line Mode or ECO Mode
The UPS will return to Online Mode or ECO Mode (if enabled) upon completion of the following procedure.
1. Conrm the battery is connected. Turn ON any external battery cabinet breakers (if applicable).
2. Turn ON the Bypass breaker (you may hear an audible alarm).
3. Turn ON the Main Input breaker (the audible alarm should stop).
4. Turn ON the Output breaker.
5. The UPS will transfer to Bypass Mode shortly after initialization. Conrm the unit has transferred to Maintenance
Bypass mode and the Bypass LED is illuminated before proceeding.
6. Turn OFF the Maintenance Bypass breaker.
7. Reattach the Maintenance Bypass breaker cover plate to the UPS using the supplied screws.
8. The UPS will transfer to Online Mode or ECO Mode within one to two minutes. The inverter will perform a slow
startup and build up to nominal voltage. Upon completion, the UPS will transfer to Online Mode or ECO Mode (if
enabled).
9. Conrm no active alarms are present.
