CHECK CALIBRATION BEFORE USE

HOW TO CALIBRATE THE SCOTTS® TURF BUILDER® SPREADER
It is necessary to calibrate your spreader before use or it may spread the incorrect amount of product.

SCOTTS* SPREADERS AND SCOTTS* PRODUCTS ARE DESIGNED TO ENSURE SUPERIOR RESULTS WHEN USED TOGETHER.

HOW TO USE YOUR SCOTTS SPREADER

1. Raise handle. Tighten wing nuts by hand.
2. Fill hopper with Scotts® Turf Builder® product.
3. Turn rate control to correct setting listed on the back of each Scotts product under "Scotts® Drop Spreaders".
4. To apply product, begin walking, then squeeze and hold trigger.

NOTE: Each pass should slightly overlap. Align the arrows on the hopper with the wheel track from previous row.

SCOTTS TURF BUILDER TIPS

Apply a header or bordering strip of product at the short ends of lawn or around perimeter.

CHECK CALIBRATION BEFORE USE - HOW TO CALIBRATE THE SCOTTS TURF BUILDER SPREADER

It is necessary to calibrate your spreader before use or it may spread the incorrect amount of product.

SET MICROMETER

- Turn micrometer until “8” is centered in window.

POSITION SPREADER

- Stand the spreader on its handle with the Scotts® logo facing away from you.

- Press gently with your foot on the control lever and observe the position of the shutoff bar.

HECK FOR PROPER CALIBRATION

- With your foot on the control lever, the “raised pointer” on the shutoff bar located at bottom of hopper should align with the bottom of the calibration line.

- You may need to pull the shutoff bar towards you to see the calibration line.

ADJUST CALIBRATION SCREW

- If the shutoff bar covers the calibration line, turn the adjustment screw counter-clockwise.
- If the bar is below the line, turn the adjustment screw clockwise.
