HOW TO ADJUST THE SHOFT LEVER
NOTE: To help show the shif_ gate, the shift cover was removed
in the illustration,
t. Move the shift lever to the NEUTRAL position Carefufly pull
the shift cover away so that you can see the shift gate
2 Carefully push the shift lever towards the seat until you feel
the spring begin to extend, Measure the distance between
the shift lever and the shift gate as shown The distance must
be approximately t/8" to 3/16" (3mm to 5ram)
3, If the distance between the shift lever and the gate is
incorrect, disconnect the adjustable nut at the shift lever
as shown
4. Check and adjust the clutch/brake pedal See the instructions
How To Check and Adjust The Clutch
5. Turn the adjustable nut at the shift lever clockwise to
decrease the distance between the shift lever and the gate or
counterclockwise to increase the distance, Connect the
adjustable nut to the shift tever,,
6, Check the dista nce between the shift lever and the gate See
Step 2, If the distance is incorrect, repeat Steps 3 and 5

HOW TO CHECK AND ADJUST
THE SHIFT GATE
If it is difficuit to change gears, adjust the shift gate as follows:
1 Set the parking brake
2, Loosen the two bolts at the shift gate as shown
3. Move the shift lever to the REVERSE position
4,, Make sure the shift indicator is in the center of the reverse
notch in the shift gate Push on the top of the shift gate while
you tighten the rear bolt
5, Then, tighten the front bolt
6, Move the shift lever to the NEUTRAL pos_tlon Release the
parking brake, Push the unit to make sure the rear wheels will
turn.
