Follow ALL safety precautions mentioned in this manual
when doing any maintenance on your mower.
The clearances for the retainers are listed below, and
measured with the blades engaged and engine OFF.

Verifying Deck Belt Retainers

The clearance for the "J" shaped re-
tainers is 3/16"
To adjust the retainers, loosen the top
nut slightly and rotate into position. Hold
the retainer in place while tightening the
bolt.
Figure 5:
The clearance for the idle pulley retain-
ers is 1/8"
To adjust the idle pulley retainers,
loosen the nut on the top of the pulley
and bottom slightly. Slide the retainer
into place and tighten the nuts back.
