Service Adjustments
Deck Belt
It is recommended to do a quick visual inspection of the
deck belt retainers atthe same interval as inspecting the
deck belt tension. This check should be performed every 8
hours. The engine pulley retainer should be inspected
when replacing the deck belt, or if the belt is slipping off
the engine pulley.

Verifying Deck Belt Retainers

The 48Z Stanley has 7 main deck retainers.
• 5 "J" shaped retainers (1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
• 2 idle pulley retainers (6, 7)
• To adjust the retainers, loosen the top
nut slightly and rotate the retainer into
place. After adjusting hold the retainer
in place and tighten the nut.
• To adjust the idle pulley retainers,
loosen the pulley shaft slightly, slide the
retainer into place and re-tighten.
