14. PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION
PROBLEM PROBABLE CAUSE REMEDY
1. When the key is turned
to the «ON» position,
the dashboard fails to
switch on and there
is no acoustic signal
The safety device of the electronic
circuit board has cut in due to:
Turn the ignition key to «STOP» position
and look for the cause of the problem:
badly connected battery check the connections (par. 4.4)
battery terminals inverted check the connections (par. 4.4).
at battery recharge the battery (par. 7.5)
fuse blown replace fuse (10 A) (par. 8.5).
wet circuit board dry using lukewarm air
2. When the key is
turned to the «ON»
position, the dashboard
fails to switch on
but the acoustic
signal is activated
The safety device of the electronic
circuit board has cut in due to:
Turn the ignition key to «STOP» position
and identify the cause of the problem:

3. With the key on
«START» the
dashboard is
illuminated, but
the starter motor
does not run
insuciently charged battery recharge the battery (par. 7.5)
battery charger fuse blown replace fuse (25 A) (par. 8.5)
4. With the key on
«START» the starter
motor runs but the
engine does not start
insuciently charged battery recharge the battery (par. 7.5)
faulty fuel supply check the level in the tank (par. 7.2.1)
open the fuel stopcock (if foreseen) (par. 6.4)
check the fuel lter
faulty ignition check that the spark plug
cap is securely tted
check that the electrodes are clean
and have the correct gap
5. Starting is dicult or the
engine runs erratically
carburation problems clean or replace the air lter
empty the fuel tank and rell with fresh fuel
check and replace the fuel lter if necessary
6. Weak engine
performance
during cutting
forward speed too high in
relation to cutting height
reduce the forward speed and/or
raise the cutting height (par. 6.5.4)
7. The engine stops
when the cutting
device are engaged
engage not enabled check that all starting conditions
are met (par. 6.2.2)
8. The battery indicator
light remains on even
after the machine
has been running
for a few minutes
insucient battery charge contact your Dealer
9. The oil indicator light
switches on during
operation (if tted)
engine lubrication problems Turn the key to the «STOP»
position immediately:
top-up the oil level (see 7.3.1)
replace the lter (if the problem
persists, contact your Dealer)
If problems persist after having performed the above operations, contact your Dealer.
