Advanced Button Mapping
It’s possible to change the individual components of the MIDI message. The incoming MIDI message can
be specified on the left and the outgoing MIDI message is specified on the right.
Options include:
Type : The type of MIDI message. Be careful with button release commands. Some controllers use
NoteOn - 0, other controllers use NoteOff - 127. In the second case, a Note On/Off message type
should be used
Channel : The channel number from 1-16
Number : The Note/CC/PC number from 0-127
On : The value to be used to play the scene
Off : The value to be used to stop the scene
Enable Note Off and velocity/value 0 : the software will only listen to note off messages and
messages containing value 0 if this is checked
Feedback when data received : check this box if you need the software to send the MIDI OUT
message when the button is triggered by the MIDI controller. For example, this is required on an
AKAI APC controller because the hardware does not switch on it’s LEDs unless it’s told to by an
incoming MIDI message. A Behringer BCF2000 however does not require this as the controller
switches on its own LED. Be careful with this option as some controllers repeat back their incoming
message in which case an infinite MIDI loop can be created
