4.4.Creating Eﬀects

myDMX 3.0 includes a powerful eﬀects generator called XEEL. The XEEL contains hundreds of eﬀects which can be quickly

applied to a selection of ﬁxtures and generated into steps without having to add each step individually. To create an Eﬀect:

Select the ﬁxtures you want to include within the eﬀect

Select from one of the 4 eﬀect types

Adjust the properties

Click the ‘Generate’ button

1. Custom eﬀect presets can be loaded and saved

2. One of 4 diﬀerent eﬀect types can be chosen (further information below)

3. The length of the eﬀect can be chosen

4. Eﬀects can be generated within a new empty scene or in the existing scene

5. If ‘On Current Step’ is selected, the eﬀect will begin on the currently selected step

6. ‘Include Set Levels’ will include any currently set fader/palette levels on each step of the generated

scene

7. Compression will reduce the number of steps used in the generated eﬀect. This is useful if the

individual steps need to be edited after generating the eﬀect, or if the scene will be written to the

stand alone* memory of a device where memory space is limited. This feature is also useful if the

software is being used in express mode where the maximum number of steps allowed is limited
