10.1 Malfunctions

Spark plug does not
spark.
Battery not installed, or installed backwards.
▶
Install the battery correctly.
Flame hole not aligned with ignition electrode.
▶
Install the burner correctly so that the flame hole is aligned with the ignition electrode.
Spark plug is wet, or dirty due to food overflows.
▶
Dry the spark plug with a clean, dry cloth.
Knob is not in the OFF position.
▶
Turn the control knob to reset, then re-ignite.
Burner goes out
straight after being ig-
nited.
Control knob not pressed down long enough.

Keep the control knob pressed down for a few seconds after ignition.

Press the control knob down firmly.
Hob does not ignite
or has difficulty ignit-
ing.
Gas valve is closed or not fully open.

Open the gas valve.
There is air in the gas pipeline.
▶
Turn the control knob to reset, then re-ignite, pressing and holding the control knob for a
few seconds to empty the air in the gas pipeline.
Burner incorrectly fitted.
▶
Fit the burner correctly.
Flame hole not aligned with ignition electrode.
▶
Install the burner correctly so that the flame hole is aligned with the ignition electrode.
Burner openings are blocked.
▶
Clean the burner openings.
Gas hose is pinched or kinked, causing it to become deformed.

Check/replace the gas hose. Contact customer service.

Water in the burner.
▶
Wipe or dry the burner, then re-ignite.
Battery charge insufficient.
▶
Change the battery.
Burner flame makes
a loud noise.
Burner incorrectly fitted.

Fit the burner correctly.
High gas pressure.

Adjust the gas valve to lower the pressure.
Flame extinguished
during use.
Thermocouple tip is dirty.

Clean the thermocouple.
Short and weak
flame.
Low gas pressure.

Open the gas valve fully, or replace the gas cylinder.
Long and yellow
flame.
Burner openings are blocked.
▶
Clean the burner openings.
Red flame. Gas supply contains impurities, or the ambient air is damp.
No action required.
The kitchen smells of
gas.
Aging gas pipe or leaking joint.
▶
Open windows for ventilation, then contact customer service.
