BURNER TUBE CLEANING
OR REPLACEMENT
Confirm that Grill Is O and Cool
A) Make sure to turn the large control knob
counterclockwise until the red tab locks in the
LOW position.
B) Make sure the gas supply is turned OFF by turning the
small knob clockwise until it has fully closed.
C) Disconnect the LP cylinder.
D) Remove the lid.
E) Remove cooking grate.
Remove Regulator Assembly
A) Remove retaining clip and remove regulator
assembly(1).
Remove Burner Tube
A) Remove wing nut, washer and screw (2).
B) Carefully pull burner tube out and away from
cookbox(3).
Clean Burner Tube
You will need: A flashlight, a wire (a straightened-out coat
hanger) and a suitable stainless steel bristle brush.
A) Look inside the burner tube with a flashlight(4).
B) Clean any debris or blockage from the inside of the
burner tube with the wire(5).
C) Use the stainless steel bristle brush to clean the
outside of the burner tube. This is done to make sure all
burner ports (openings) running along the length of the
tube are fully open(6).
m CAUTION: Do not enlarge the burner ports
when cleaning.
Reinstall Burner Tube
A) Carefully slide the burner tube through the hole in the
right side of cookbox.
B) Reinstall wing nut, washer and screw that secure the
burner tube to the cookbox (hand tighten only).
Reinstall Regulator Assembly
A) Reinstall regulator assembly and secure with retaining
clip.
m DANGER: Do not use the grill if the
retaining clip securing the regulator and
orifice into the burner tube is missing.
m WARNING: You should check for gas leaks
every time you disconnect and reconnect
a gas fitting.
B) Verify that the tip of the igniter electrode is adjusted to
the proper distance from the holes in the burner tube.
Refer to “MAINTAINING THE PUSH BUTTON IGNITION
SYSTEM” for proper positioning.
C) Reinstall cooking grate.
D) Reinstall the lid.
E) Reinstall the LP cylinder.
