LONGTERM STORAGE
If you do not planto usethe pressure washer for more than
30 days, you must preparethe engine and pump for iong
term storage.
It is important to prevent gum deposits from forming in
essential fue! system parts such as the carburetor, fuel fiiter,
fuei hose or tank during storage. Atso, experience indicates
that alcohoi-biended fueis (caIiedgasohoi, ethanoi or
methanoi) can attract moisture, which ieads to separation
and formation of acids during storage. Acidic gas can
damagethe fuel system of an engine while in storage.
Pretect Fuel System
FueJAdditive:
If adding a fuet additive, filI the fuettank with fresh fuel. If
only partialiy filied, air in the tank wiii promote fuel
deterioration during storage. Engineand fuet can be stored
up to 24 months with additive.
° Add fuel additive foiiowing manufacturer's instructions.
o Make sure you have water suppiy to pump inlet
connected and turned ON.
, Run the engine outdoors for several minutes to be sure
that treated fue! has replacedthe untreatedfuei in the
carburetor.
If fuei additive is not used, removeaii fuel from tank and run
engine until it stops from lack of fuel.

While engine is stiii warm, drain oil from crankcase. Refill
with recommended grade. See @anging E,gg_9geOiL

° Remove spark piug. Squirt about a tablespoon of clean
engine oil into the cylinder. 6over spark plug hole with
rag. PulI recoil handle slowly to distribute oil. Avoid spray
from spark plug hole.
, Install spark plug. DO NOTconnect spark plug wire.
Pretect Pump
To protect the pump from damage caused by minerai
deposits or freezing, use PumpSaver,Sears retail item
71744036S, to treat pump. This prevents freezedamage and
lubricates pistons and seals.
NOTE:PumpSaveris available as an optional accessory. It is
not included with the pressure washer. 6ontact your local
Sears service center to purchase PumpSaver.
You must protect your unit from freezing temperatures.
Failure to do so will permanently damage your purnp and
render your unit inoperable
Freezedamage is not covered under warranty.
To use PumpSaver,make sure the pressure washer is turned
off and disconnectedfrom supply water. Readand follow all
instructions and warnings given on the PumpSaver
container.
Other Storage Tips
1. DO NOTstore fuel from oneseason to another unless it
has beentreated as described in Protect Fuel System.

ReplacefueI container if it starts to rust. Rust and/or dirt
in fuei can causeprobiems if it's used with this unit.
