#2 Drips just go into the bottom of the basket?
Yes it does because the top tray has holes in it so it drips right down to the bottom. Taking the top tray off is really easy. You can then just wipe off the drip with paper towels. it's just a matter of getting used to it and there are so many ways to use it. I like making sandwiches on hard rolls and heating it on the fryer. Just be careful not to overheat your sandwich or bread. I really like this unit. If you have not bought one yet I suggest you get one 6 quarts or larger. Shop around. There's a lot to choose from. Walmart has a few. I bought one with french doors for about $75
