TROUBLESHOOTING
First try the solutions suggested here to possibly avoid the cost of a service call.
Problem Possible Reason Solution
Hood doesn’t
work.
Electric Supply Plug power cord into power
source.
Reset/Turn on circuit breaker
or replace fuse.
Poor Airow Aluminum grease lters
are clogged.
Clean and dry the lters, and
then reassemble.
Charcoal lters are
clogged.
Replace the charcoal lters.
Motor running, but
no airow.
Buttery valve jammed. Call for service.
After running for
a while, the motor
stops.
The high temperature
safety device is activated.
The kitchen is not suciently
ventilated.
The hood is installed too
close to the stove.
The hood must be a minimum
of 24" (61 cm) for an electric
cooking surface, and a
minimum of 30" (76 cm) for a
gas cooking surface.
Strong cooking
smell
Charcoal lters are not
installed.
In re-circulating mode, charcoal
lters must be installed.
Oil dripping onto
stove
Oil cup missing or not
installed.
Replace aluminum lter and
replace oil cup.
Aluminum grease lter
saturated.
Wash the aluminum grease
lters.
Whirring sound Fan blade problem Call for service.
