Onscreen Markers and Zebra Patterns
Using onscreen markers allows you to make sure your subject is correctly framed. The zebra patterns help you
identify areas that are overexposed. The onscreen markers and zebra pattern will not affect your recordings.
Displaying Onscreen Markers
You can display a grid or a horizontal line at the center of the screen. Use
the markers, which can be displayed in white or gray, to make sure your
subject is framed correctly.
1 Press the MENU button.
2 Open the [Onscreen Markers] submenu.

mode) > [2] (in mode) or [1] (in mode) > [Onscreen
Markers]
3 Select the desired option and then touch [X].
NOTES
You can turn off most other onscreen displays, leaving only the onscreen markers (A 47).
Displaying Zebra Patterns
The camcorder has a zebra pattern feature that shows black and white diagonal stripes over areas that are
overexposed. The camcorder offers two levels of zebra pattern: With 100%, only areas that will lose detail in the
highlight areas will be identified, while 70% will identify also areas that are dangerously close to losing detail.
1 Touch [FUNC.] and then touch [Zebra].
2Touch [z 70%] or [{ 100%] and then touch [X].
The zebra pattern will appear on the overexposed areas of the picture.
Touch [ Off] to turn off the zebra pattern.
NOTES
The zebra pattern will not be output to an external device connected to the HDMI OUT terminal.
