WARNING
To reduce the risk of re, electric shock, or injury to persons
when using your appliance, follow basic precautions, including the
following:
1. This appliance is not to be used by persons (including children)
with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack
of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.
2. For use in Europe: This appliance can be used by children aged
from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction
concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand
the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance.
Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children
without supervision.
3. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play

7. For use in Europe: Children of less than 3 years should be kept
away unless continuously supervised.
8. CAUTION: In order to avoid a hazard due to inadvertent resetting
of the thermal cut-out, this appliance must not be supplied
through an external switching device, such as a timer, or
connected to a circuit that is regularly switched on and off by the
utility.
9. The tumble dryer is not to be used if industrial chemicals have
been used for cleaning.
10. The lint trap has to be cleaned frequently, if applicable.
11. Lint must not to be allowed to accumulate around the tumble
dryer. (not applicable for appliances intended to be vented to the
exterior of the building)
12. Adequate ventilation has to be provided to avoid the back ow
of gases into the room from appliances burning other fuels,
including open res.
13. Do not dry unwashed items in the tumble dryer.
14. Items that have been soiled with substances such as cooking oil,
acetone, alcohol, petrol, kerosene, spot removers, turpentine,
waxes and wax removers should be washed in hot water with
an extra amount of detergent before being dried in the tumble
dryer.
15. Items such as foam rubber (latex foam), shower caps, waterproof
textiles, rubber backed articles and clothes or pillows tted with
foam rubber pads should not be dried in the tumble dryer.
16. Fabric softeners, or similar products, should be used as specied
by the fabric softener instructions.

17. The nal part of a tumble dryer cycle occurs without heat (cool
down cycle) to ensure that the items are left at a temperature
that ensures that the items will not be damaged.
18. Remove all objects from pockets such as lighters and matches.
19. WARNING: Never stop a tumble dryer before the end of the
drying cycle unless all items are quickly removed and spread out
so that the heat is dissipated.
20. Exhaust air must not be discharged into a ue which is used for
exhausting fumes from appliances burning gas or other fuels.
21. The appliance must not be installed behind a lockable door, a
sliding door or a door with a hinge on the opposite side to that of
the tumble dryer, in such a way that a full opening of the tumble
dryer door is restricted.

To minimize the risk of re in a tumble dryer, the following should be
observed
CAUTION
Items that have been spotted or soaked with vegetable or cooking oil constitute a
re hazard and should not be placed in a tumble dryer. Oil-affected items can ignite
spontaneously, especially when exposed to heat sources such as in a tumble dryer. The
items become warm, causing an oxidation reaction in the oil. Oxidation creates heat. If
the heat cannot escape, the items can become hot enough to catch re. Piling, stacking
or storing oil-affected items can prevent heat from escaping and so create a re hazard.
If it is unavoidable that fabrics that contain vegetable or cooking oil or have been
contaminated by hair care products be placed in a tumble dryer they should rst be
washed in hot water with extra detergent – this will reduce, but not eliminate, the hazard.
The ‘cool down’ cycle of tumble dryers should be used to reduce the temperature of the
items. They should not be removed from the tumble dryer or piled or stacked while hot.
Items that have been previously cleaned in, washed in, soaked in or spotted with petrol/
gasoline, dry-cleaning solvents or other ammable or explosive substances should not
be placed in a tumble dryer. Highly ammable substances commonly used in domestic
environments include acetone, denatured alcohol, petrol/gasoline, kerosene, spot
removers(some brands), turpentine, waxes and wax removers.
Items containing foam rubber(also known as latex foam) or similarly textured rubber. Like
materials should not be dried in a tumble dryer on a heat setting. Foam rubber materials
can, when heated, produce re by spontaneous combustion.
Fabric softeners or similar products should not be used in a tumble dryer to eliminate
the effects of static electricity unless this practice is specically recommended by the
manufacturer of the fabric softener or product.
Undergarments that contain metal reinforcements should not be placed in a tumble dryer.
Damage to the tumble dryer can result if metal reinforcements come loose during drying.
When available a drying rack could be used for such items.
Plastic articles such as shower caps or babies’ waterproof napkin covers should not be
placed in a tumble dryer.
Rubber-backed articles, clothes tted with foam rubber pads, pillows, galoshes and
rubber-coated tennis shoes should not be placed in a tumble dryer.
Do not dry unwashed items in the tumble dryer(or washing machine drying mode,etc).

Since an ingredient in hair spray may degrade the hydrophile property of the heat

• The oxidization heat of the oil may start a re.
Make sure that the pockets of all clothing to be dried are empty.
• Hard, sharp objects, such as coins, safety pins, nails, screws, or stones can cause
extensive damage to the appliance.

Do not dry clothing with large buckles, buttons, or other heavy metal (zippers, hooks and
eyelets, button-up covers).
If necessary, use the laundry net for small and lightweight laundry such as fabric tie belt ,
apron strings, and underwire bras which can dissolve or break during a cycle.
Dryer sheets are compatible with this model, and are recommended for better drying
performance.
Dryer sheets are also benecial in reducing the static electricity generated during a
drying cycle. Static electricity could lead to damage of laundry items and potentially the
appliance.
Do not use the dryer near dangerous powders such as coal dust, wheat our, etc.

Do not place inammable materials near the product.

Installation requirements
NOTE
This dryer must be installed by a qualied installer. If service is required due to poor or
faulty installation, it is considered the owner’s responsibility and may void the warranty.
Keep these instructions for future reference.
WARNING
• Do not plug the power cord into a wall outlet before the dryer is completely installed.
• Have two or more persons help move the dryer.
• Do not let children or pets play in, on, or around the dryer. Proper supervision is
necessary at all times.
• Keep all packaging materials away from children.
• Do not replace a damaged power cord or power plug yourself. Have Samsung or a
qualied service technician replace a damaged power cord or power plug.
• Do not attempt to repair, disassemble, or modify the dryer. For any repairs, contact the
nearest Samsung service centre.
• Remove the door/lids from all discarded appliances to avoid children from suffocating.
• If the dryer generates a strange noise, burning smells, or smoke, unplug the power plug
immediately and contact the nearest Samsung service centre.
• Do not unplug the dryer while it is operating.
• Do not place ammable objects near the dryer.

Location requirements
Select a level, well-constructed surface that will withstand vibrations.
WARNING
• Install the dryer indoors only.
• Do not install the dryer in areas exposed to the weather.
• Do not install the dryer where the temperature may fall below 5 °C or rise above 35 °C.
• Do not install the dryer where gas may leak.
• Do not block the cooling grill’s air inlet located at the dryer front.
Alcove or closet installation
For alcove or closet installation, the dryer requires the following minimum clearances:

If installing the dryer with a washing machine, the front of the alcove or closet must have
an unobstructed air opening of at least 490 mm.
Electrical and grounding requirements
• The dryer requires an AC 220-240 V / 50 Hz electrical supply.
• The dryer must be properly grounded. If the dryer malfunctions or breaks down,
grounding reduces the risk of electric shock by providing a path of least resistance
for the electric current. The plug must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is
properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
• If you have any questions regarding the electrical or grounding requirements, please
contact Samsung or a qualied electrician.
WARNING
• Do not use a damaged power plug, cord, or loose or damaged wall outlet.
• Do not use an adapter or an extension cord.
• Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor may result in electric
shock. If you are unsure if the dryer is properly grounded, check with a qualied
electrician.
• Do not modify the power plug, power cord, or power outlet in any way.
• Do not connect the ground wire to plastic plumbing lines, gas lines, or hot water pipes.

Levelling
Before you install the dryer, make sure you have read Installation requirements on
page 17. Please note that the following instructions are for installation without using a
drain hose. For instructions for using a drain hose, see the next section, Drain hose (if
necessary). For convenience, consider installing the dryer next to your washing machine.

1. Gently slide the dryer into the desired
location.
2. Use a level (A) and check the levelness
of the dryer from side to side and front
to back.
3. If the dryer is not level, adjust the
levelling leg (B). Turning the leg
counter-clockwise retracts the leg.
Turning the leg clockwise extends the
leg.
4. Once the dryer is level, make sure the
dryer stands rmly on the oor.
5. Plug in the dryer.

NOTE
• To set the dryer to the same height
as the washing machine, fully retract
(C) the levelling legs by turning them
counter clockwise, then loosen (D) the
legs by turning them clockwise.
• Extend the levelling leg only as much
as necessary. Extending the levelling
leg more than necessary can cause the
dryer to vibrate.

Drain hose (if necessary)

1. Insert the drain hose to the drain hole
(A) on the bottom-rear of the dryer.
2. Insert the other end of the hose in the
drain hole on the oor.
NOTE
You can use the provided cable ties to
arrange the drain hose through to the
drain hole. Make sure the hose is not
damaged or bent.
CAUTION
• For proper drainage, the maximum height of the drain hose must be less than 90 cm
from the oor.
• To prevent backow, make sure the drain hose is not submerged in water.
• To prevent a leak on the oor, make sure the drain hose is inserted properly into the
drain hole (A).

1. Make sure to place the end of the
accessory hose lower than 90 cm (*)
from the bottom of dryer.
2. To bend some point of the accessory
hose, use the supplied plastic hose
guide (B) and secure the guide to the
wall with a hook or to the tap with a
piece of string. Assemble the drain hose
(A) and the hose guide (B) and x them
with the cable-tie (C).
3. You can drain the condensed water by
connecting the accessory drain hose to
the drain-outlet directly.
CAUTION
Do not extend the drain hose. Water may
leak from the connected area. Use a long
drain hose.
By using the drain pipe of the wash basin:

1. Assemble the hose connector (A), and
attach it to the end of the accessory
hose as shown.
CAUTION
To prevent water leak, make sure to
connect the hose and the connector rmly.

2. Connect the hose adapter directly to the
drain pipe of the wash basin.
Before using the dryer
• Make sure no accessory remains inside the drum.
• Plug in the power cord just before operating the dryer.
• Do not block the air inlet hole of the cooling grill at the front of the dryer.
• Do not place inammable objects near the dryer and keep the surroundings clean.
• Keep the dryer level with the ground.
• Do not remove the adjustable levelling legs of the dryer. They are necessary to keep
the dryer level with the ground.

Press to select the dryness level for a selected cycle.
• Damp: Suitable for ironing.
• Less: Select this for clothes that could shrink.
• Normal: Select this for ordinary items.
• Very: Select this for thick or heavy clothes.
10 Temp. Use to select a desired drying temperature.
11 Dry Option
Use to reduce drying time or power consumption. Press to toggle
between Energy Saving and Speed modes.
12 Wrinkle
Prevent
Adds approximately 3 hours of intermittent tumbling at the end
of the selected cycle to reduce wrinkles. To activate, press Wrinkle
Prevent. The wrinkle prevent indicator blinks, and zero appears on
the display.
13 POWER
Press to turn the dryer on/off. If the dryer turns on for 10 minutes
without any button being pressed, the dryer automatically turns off.
14 START/PAUSE
Press to start or pause a cycle. If the dryer is running, press the
button once to pause the dryer. Press again to resume.

Cycle overview
• The dryer senses the load and the dryness of the load and starts and stops operation
accordingly. The actual operation time may differ from the displayed time.
• To dry thin or synthetic-bre items, select DELICATES to prevent damage and wrinkles
on the items.

Getting started
Simple steps to start
1. Press Power to turn the dryer on.
2. Load the dryer and close the door.
3. Turn the Cycle Selector to select a cycle.
4. Change the cycle settings (Dry Level, and Temp.) as necessary.
5. Select necessary settings and options to your preference. (Wrinkle Prevent, Damp
Alert, and Alarm Off).
6. Press Start/Pause. The dryer indicator lights up, and the estimated cycle time appears
on the display.
NOTE
The number of available settings and options differs with the cycle.
To change the cycle during operation
1. Press Start/Pause to stop operation.
2. Select a different cycle.
3. Press and hold Start/Pause to start new cycle.
Sorting and loading
• Put only one wash load in the dryer at a time.
• Avoid mixing heavy and lightweight items together.
• To increase drying efciency when drying one or two items, add a dry towel to the
load.
• For best results, untangle items before inserting into the dryer.
• Overloading restricts the tumbling process, resulting in uneven drying and wrinkling.
• Unless recommended on the care label, avoid drying woollens or breglass items.
• Avoid drying unwashed items.
• Do not dry items soiled with oil, alcohol, gasoline, etc.

Rack Dry
Set the drying time up to 150 minutes according to the moisture and weight of the items
to dry. When drying laundry using the drying rack, the RACK DRY cycle is recommended.
1. Open the dryer door.
2. Put items on the rack with even space
between the items for air circulation.
For clothes, fold them beforehand.
3. Put the dryer rack inside the drum with
the front side of the rack above the
lter.
4. Close the door, and then turn the dryer
on.
5. Turn the cycle selector to select RACK
DRY.
6. Specify the drying time according
to the load and humidity of the load
between 60 minutes and 180 minutes.
7. Press Temp. to select a temperature.
To prevent damage from heat, it is
recommended to select a middle or
lower temperature.

Always follow the care label when drying. If care label instructions are not available, refer

Blankets • For best results, dry only one blanket at a time.
Down-lled items • Do not dry on a heat setting. Doing so may cause a re
hazard. Only use the COOL AIR cycle.

Dry Time
You can specify the drying time for a
selected cycle.
1. Select a manual cycle.
2. Press + or – as many as you want to
specify the drying time. Press and
hold the + or - button for 3 seconds to
quickly change the time.
3. Press START/PAUSE.
NOTE
This is only available with manual cycles
(QUICK DRY, TIME DRY, RACK DRY and
COOL AIR).
My Cycle
You can save frequently used cycles for
later use.
To save a cycle
1. Select a desired cycle, dry level, and
dry time as necessary.
2. Press and hold My Cycle for 3 seconds.
The corresponding indicator lights up.
To activate My Cycle
When the dryer turns on, press My Cycle.
Alarm Off
You can turn on or off the alarm sound.
Press Alarm Off to mute the alarm sound,
and press again to unmute it.
Drum Light
You can turn on or off the interior lamp.
Press Drum Light to turn the lamp on, and
press again to turn it off.
Dry Level
Available with 4 options: Damp, Less,
Normal, Very. Select Damp for ironing or
to leave clothes slightly damp to air dry.
Select Very for thick and heavy items that
require powerful drying performance.
Temperature
Select an appropriate temperature for the
load. Keep pressing Temp. to specify the
temperature.
Dry Option
• Energy Saving: In the COTTON or
SYNTHETICS cycle, select Energy Saving
to reduce power consumption.
• Speed: In the COTTON cycle, select
Speed to reduce the drying time.
Wrinkle Prevent
To prevent wrinkles on dried items, the
dryer circulates air for up to 3 hours until
you open the door and remove the items.
Child Lock
Child Lock prevents children from
playing with the dryer. When Child Lock
is activated, all buttons except for the
POWER button are disabled.
To activate/deactivate Child Lock, press
and hold both + and - of Dry Time
simultaneously for 3 seconds.
NOTE
If Child Lock is activated, and the dryer is
turned off and then on again, Child Lock
remains activated.

Smart Check
If the dryer has detected an issue, Smart
Check allows you to check the status of the
dryer using a smartphone. Please note that
Smart Check can only be used for Galaxy
and iPhone series smartphones.
To use Smart Check, make sure you have
downloaded the Samsung Smart Washer/
Dryer app, and then follow the steps
below.
1. Press and hold Damp Alert for 3
seconds or press Smart Check. The
LED’s on the display panel rotate, and
the Smart Check code is displayed.
2. On the smartphone, open the Samsung
Smart Washer/Dryer app and tap the
Smart Check button.
3. Focus the smartphone’s camera on the
Smart Check code shown on the display
panel.
4. If the information code is recognised,
the app provides detailed information
for the issue and further instructions.
NOTE
• If the dryer reects light on the display,
the smartphone may fail to recognise
the information code.
• If the smartphone fails to recognise the
code, manually enter the information
code into the smartphone.

SmartThings
Wi-Fi connection
On your smartphone, go to the Settings and turn on the wireless connection and select an
AP (Access Point).
NOTE
• This device is designed for household use only (Class B), and can be used in all
residential areas.
• This device may cause wireless interference, and neither the manufacturer or the
installer of this device can provide a safety measure of any kind.
• Recommended encryption methods are WPA/TKIP and WPA2/AES. Newly developed
Wi-Fi protocols or unapproved Wi-Fi protocols are not supported.
• The reception sensitivity of a wireless network may be affected by surrounding
wireless environments.
• If your Internet provider has registered the MAC address of your PC or the modem
module for permanent use, your Samsung dryer fails to connect to the Internet. If this
is the case, contact your Internet provider.
• The Internet rewall may interrupt your Internet connection. If this happens, contact
your Internet provider.
• If Internet failure continues after following the measurement of your Internet provider,
contact a local Samsung retailer or service centre.
• For installing wired and wireless routers, refer to the user manual of the router you
use.
• Samsung dryer supports the Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz protocols.
• Samsung dryer supports the IEEE802.11 b/g/n (2.4 GHz), Soft-AP protocols.

Log in
You must rst log into SmartThings with your Samsung account. To create a new Samsung
account, follow the instructions on the app. You don’t need a separate app to create your
account.
NOTE
If you have a Samsung account, use the account to log in. A registered Samsung
smartphone user automatically logs in.
To register your device to SmartThings
1. Make sure your smartphone is connected to a wireless network. If not, go to the
Settings and turn on the wireless connection and select an AP (Access Point).
2. Select to run SmartThings on your smartphone.
3. When a message of “A new device is found.”, select Add.
4. If no message appears, select + and select your dryer in a list of devices available. If
your dryer is not listed, select Device Type > Specic Device Model, and then add your
dryer manually.
5. Register your dryer to the SmartThings app as follows.
a. Log into SmartThings with your Samsung account.
b. Turn a Wi-Fi connection on.
c. Add your dryer to SmartThings. Make sure your dryer is connected to SmartThings.
d. When registration is complete, your dryer appears on your smartphone.

discolouration, deformation, damage, electric shock, or re.

Control panel
Clean with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Do not spray cleaners directly
on the panel. Immediately wipe up any spills or liquids from the control panel.
Exterior
Clean with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners. Avoid using or placing sharp
or heavy objects near/on the dryer. Keep detergent and laundry supplies on the pedestal
(sold separately) or in a separate storage container.
Drum
Clean with a damp cloth with a mild, non-abrasive cleaner suitable for stainless steel.
Wipe remaining residue with a clean, dry cloth.
Care during the winter
• Install and maintain the dryer in a location without drafts and above zero Celsius.
• In winter, water remaining in the drain hose may freeze. Remove water or moisture
from the drain hose.
• If the drain hose is frozen, wrap it with a warm, damp cloth for about 10 minutes.

Lint lter
Clean the lint lter after each load.
1. Open the door and pull the lter
upward to remove. Do not remove the
rubber packing.
2. Open the outer lter and remove the
inner lter.
3. Unfold both the inner and the outer
lters.
4. Remove the lint from both lters, and
then clean them using a soft brush.
NOTE
To remove stubborn dirt, clean the lters
in running water. When complete, dry
them thoroughly.

5. Put the inner lter into the outer lter,
and then reinsert the lint lter into the
original position.
CAUTION
• Clean the lint lter after each load. Otherwise, the drying performance may decrease.
• Do not operate the dryer without the inner lter inside the outer lter. This may

• Make sure both lters are completely dried before using the dryer.
• Using the dryer with a wet lint lter may cause mold, bad odours, or a decrease in
drying performance.

Water tank (applicable models only)
To avoid leaks, empty the water tank after every load.
1. Open the water-tank drawer, and then
pull the water tank forward and remove
with both hands.
2. Open the lid of the water tank, and then
empty the water tank.
3. Close the lid and put the water tank
back in the drawer. Then, close the
drawer.
NOTE
After you have emptied the water tank,
press START/PAUSE. The corresponding
indicator turns off.
CAUTION
Use caution when emptying a full water tank. A heavy water tank may fall, causing
physical injury.

Heat exchanger
• The heat exchanger indicator lights up on the display when the heat exchanger needs
to be cleaned.
• Clean the heat exchanger on a regular basis to prevent reduction of the performance
from dust or other impurities.

2. Unlock both xers as shown.
3. Remove the inner cover of the heat
exchanger.

4. Brush and clean the heat exchanger
using a soft, damp cloth. When done,
dry the heat exchanger using a dry
cloth or vacuum cleaner.
CAUTION
• To avoid physical injury and burns, do
not touch or clean the heat exchanger
with bare hands.
• Do not apply force to the heat
exchanger. Applying excessive force to
the heat exchanger may deform it, but
its performance is not affected.
• Do not spray water onto the heat
exchanger. This may cause a leak or
bad odours.
• To prevent difcult cleaning in
the future, dust the heat exchange
immediately after cleaning it.
5. Clean the inner cover using a soft,
damp cloth.
6. Reinsert the inner cover back in
position, and then lock the xers.

Humidity sensor
• The humidity sensor senses the
humidity of the load and adjusts the
drying time accordingly.
• To maintain optimal performance,
remove impurities on and around the
humidity sensor regularly.
CAUTION
A contaminated humidity sensor may cause an incorrect calculation, which results in an
extended drying time.
Door
• The door may be contaminated on or
around itself. Use a soft cloth or brush
to clean the door.

• Sort light and heavy items separately.
• Reposition large, bulky items to ensure even drying.
• Check that the dryer is draining properly.
• For small loads, add a few dry towels.
• Clean the lint lter and heat exchanger lter.
Dryer is noisy
• Check for coins, buttons, lighters, etc.
• Make sure the dryer is level and standing rmly on the
oor.
• The dryer may hum due to air moving through the drum
and fan. This is normal.
Dries unevenly
• Seams, pockets, and other parts of clothing are harder to
dry than others. This is normal.
• Sort heavy and light items separately.
Dryer emits an odour
• The dryer may draw household odours in from the
surrounding air and then exhaust them. This is normal.
Dryer turns off before
the load is dry
• Dryer load is too small. Add more items and restart the
cycle.
• Dryer load is too large. Remove items and restart the cycle.
Lint on clothes
• Make sure the lint lter is clean before every load.
• Dry lint-producing items (fuzzy towels) separate from lint
trappers, such as black linen pants.
• Divide larger loads into smaller loads.
