#3 How does that monitor look out of the box? Does it need a lot of calibration to get a high quality picture?
I use these monitors for graphic design and ordered two at the same time. I didn't find that it had a lot of options to calibrate, although they do have about 6 different preset color spaces, and joystick controls to manipulate brightness, etc. (Custom, Reader, Photo, Cinema, Color Weakness, and Game). That being said, my Mac recognized them right away and adopted a LG calibration. I tried the custom calibration, but the custom calibrated color seemed worse, so I'm using the preset. Oddly, though I bought two of the same monitor so the color would match, I do notice a slight beige cast to light grays on one monitor, while not on the other. (using all the same settings).
