Sony MDS-JA20ES Questions and Answers

#1 What is required to transfer music from a MiniDisc (MD) to a computer?

To transfer music from a MiniDisc (MD) to a computer, the MD player must have an analog or digital LINE OUT jack and be connected to a computer with an analog or digital LINE IN jack. In addition, audio recording software must be installed on the computer to capture the music files from the MD player.
NOTE: There are various audio recording applications on the market, such as the Sound Forge® Audio Studio™ software available from Sony Style .

#2 Does Sony have a Product Recycling Program?

To encourage the proper disposal of electronic products and batteries, we introduced the Take Back Recycling Program to offer free recycling of unwanted Sony® products.

#3 What is covered by the Sony warranty?

Sony® product warranty information, including what is covered by the warranty, is part of the documentation inside the box for each Sony product. The warranty may be on a separate card or as part of the Primary User Manual (usually the User's Guide or Operating Instructions).
Electronic copies of the warranty card, primary user manual, and other documentation are available online.
IMPORTANT: Electronic copies of warranty information may not be available for all models.

#4 Can I Recover Information from a Damaged Recording Media?

Yes, you can still recover data stored on a damaged recording media, as long as the files have not been written over. The severity or type of damage your recording media sustained is a main factor on the success rate of data recovery. Below are examples of recording media available:

Tapes (VHS, Microcassette, Audio)
Compact Discs (CD)
DVDs
Blu-ray Disc™ (BD) media
Flash media (such as Memory Stick® media or Micro Vault® storage devices)

#5 What are the remote control codes?

Over the years Sony® has produced thousands of different devices, many of which came with their own remote control. Because of this, and because it would be so cumbersome to list all of the codes for all the remotes in this answer, you may visit the Sony Remote Code Support Web site where you can specify your particular remote control model and get a complete list of codes and programming instructions.
NOTES:
You will need the remote control model number to find the appropriate codes and programming instructions.
Refer to the product documentation if a specific remote control or component device is not listed.
