Onkyo TX-RZ840 Questions and Answers

#1 Does the hdmi in this receiver support earc, dolby truehd or dts-hd?

The eARC support is available through a firmware update which we are expecting to be released by the end of third quarter of this year. This receiver is able to output Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD. Once the eARC firmware is released you should also be able to bring those audio formats through the ARC link.

#2 Can it play mp3 content from usb? can we also connect external hdd to usb and lan?

Yes you should be able to play MP3 files saved to a thumb drive. While it may be possible to connect an external hard drive, depending on the format and size of the hard drive, some external HHD will not work with our receiver.

#3 Do this come with Bluetooth capability so you can tune it to your phone

Yes we have Bluetooth built into our receiver while will allow you to stream audio from your phone, laptop or computer into the receiver.

#4 Has anyone had any troubles with hdr through the receiver?

We have not had any known issues with our receiver passing HDR through the receiver to the TV/Projector.
