he rice cooking feature is a separate function from the steam feature. If you were steaming perhaps root veggies that require more time, like sweet potato, that might work. A better option might be to cook the rice using that function, let the steam subside, add your veggies and steam for a few minutes (however long you think -- usually just a few minutes but it takes extra time to build up the pressure during which they would be cooking) and it might make the rice more glutinous than it would be if cooked at the proper time of 20 min.
