Installation and User Guide Touchpad Electric Lever for Kwikset 99120-037

Install the exterior keypad, mounting plate, and spindle

  1. Install exterior keypad.
  2. Route cable through mounting plate.
  3. Secure mounting plate with supplied screws.
  4. Install spindle.

Install levers

  1. Install interior lever.
  2. Secure interior lever. 
  3. Install exterior lever.
  4. Secure exterior lever.

Add the lock to your smart home system

  1. Initiate the process to add the lock to your system at your smart home controller. Refer to your smart home system instructions for more information.
  2. When prompted by your smart home system to add the lock, press button "A" on the lock interior one time. The red LED will illuminate when the lock enters Add Mode.
  3. If successful, re-name the lock in your system (if applicable).
  4. If unsuccessful, follow your system's instructions to remove the lock from the controller and any other network, then press button "A" on the lock one time. Perform steps 7A-7C again. 

Factory Reset

A factory reset will delete all codes associated with the lock, and it will remove it from your smart home system.

  1. Remove battery pack.
  2. Press and HOLD the Program button while reinserting the battery pack. Keep holding the button for 30 seconds until the lock beeps and the status LED flashes red.
  3. Press the Program button once more. When the LED flashes green and you hear one beep, the lock has been reset.
  4. Pair the lock with your smart home system, and add user codes to your lock.

Does this come in iron black?
Yes, it does. It is currently showing as an option to purchase the iron black now under this item.
Can you order an additional deadbolt with this lock set?
I ordered a separate lock set recently. It’s Halifax and is just the deadbolt lock portion.. You can rekey the kwikset locks so all use the same key.
Does the bottom part go all the way through the door? and does it come with a cover plate for the inside?
Yes, the tail goes all the way through the door and does have a very nice “button” cover. As far As the dimension from the handle to the tail piece it is a standard in the industry so if you already have a screw through the door, it will all slide right into place.
Would I be able to install a storm door or would the handle be in the way? I am concerned that the handle comes out too much.
I have a Pella storm door installed with this handleset. I would think that as long as you have a standard depth between the door and the storm it should be fine. It's a gorgeous set! Highly recommend.
Does this rust? We live near an ocean
It hasn't rusted on us, but we live 4 hours away from the ocean.
