Inspect the driveshafts and boots for damage, tears, or
leaks. If any tears are found, see your dealer.
Check the steering to make sure it turns smoothly in both
directions. Check for any tears in the boots.
If any tears are found, see your dealer.
If the vehicle was last driven in deep grass or a brushy
area, look for and remove an
y debris. Check for any
visible dents or cracks. If any dents or cracks are found,
see your dealer.
Inspect the air cleaner element (page 119) to insure it is
clean and evenly oiled.
Check for deposits in the drain tube. If necessary, clean
the tube (page 122) and check the air cleaner housing.
Check the condition of all suspension components. Be
sure to look for bends or oil leaks in the cushion dam
per.
Make sure the headlights, taillights, and brake lights are
working properly.
Check that all driving controls, including the accelerator
pedal, brake pedal, parking brake lever, drive mode select
lever, and the shift lever are operating smoothly.
Make sure no flammable materials or debris are sticking
to the exhaust system. If any flammable materials or
debris is found, remove it. Start the engine
and listen for
any exhaust leaks.
