I use the "smart life" app, and yes the app sends a push notification to your phone to let you know a device either isn't running its automation or if the plug is not responding. I have had to reset a few times by unplugging and plugging the outlet back in, sometimes they just start working again on their own. A deep freezer i would plug directly into the wall because the unexpected loss of power could ruin whatever you were freezing.

No, it will allow you to control 120 volt power to whatever is connected. On and off is the only capability this device has.

I just set this up with the google mini. You first have to download the smart home app on android, ios is called something else. create an account and set up the device by holding down the power button for 5 seconds. once it is set up in the smart home app. go to the google home app and set up a new device. select smart home and enter in your account credentials that you just created. Be aware that by default when entering the password it capitalizes the first letter. it should ask you for permission to link and work.

Smart turns on/off so I guess it should work. Otherwise, you can set one schedule by grouping multiple smart plugs. This is a neat feature, we have our tv monitor and it’s separate receiver on two smart plugs. Once grouped, we can control both.

You’ll have to set the plug up on one network, but after that the app should control it regardless. I can be on WiFi at my job and turn the plug on and off at home.
