GE - General Electric 93120081 Questions and Answers

#1 Will a pet set the motion detection sensor ?

Depends on where your light switch located but my dog doesn't set it off. He is a 12 pound lap dog. I guess if you have a larger animal then maybe.

#2 Do you need 2 switches on both sides or is there a different switch for the other end?

Assuming you are asking about a three way setup (two switches for one light), you need two c by ge switches. Then you must configure the two switches as the same room in the c by ge software or they will not work correctly.

#3 Is there a stand-alone remote that will work with this switch in lieu of a smartphone?

Works with Echo products like echo show, echo dot etc.

#4 Will this switch work with non dimmable led bulbs, if i use the adaptive on one of the bulbs?

Yes, you will tell the switch that you are installing non-dimmable bulbs when you set up the device in the C by GE app, the switch will then disable the dimming feature of the switch.

#5 Can this dim smart led bulbs? Rather, can it dim them via their normal app controls instead of varying/chopping the power?

You can set the switch to Cync bulbs only and dim the bulbs instead of the switches. However my switches freaked out when I put Cync bulbs in even after this setting. I also feel you would lose control of your lights in the event of internet lose as I believe these lights function through the cloud.

#6 If this is switched to the off position, will my automations still work? Or will that disconnect it like a regular household switch does?

Even tho the SELLER says NO, the information on the sales page says completely different. The info below is taken DIRECTLY from the sales page.

#7 Does the Paddle rest in the middle. So press up on the paddle to turn on and press down to turn off?

Great question! the bottom part of the paddle is the only part that would need to be pressed to operate the switch.

#8 Can Alexa dim the lights?

Yes, Alexa will be able to dim the 3-wire dimmer switch on voice command.

#9 I have a ceiling fan, can this work with that as well? It has bulbs too.

If your ceiling fan and the lights attached to the ceiling fan are controlled by the same switch, this will not work as intended.
