Tip: You can also clean the blade of the blender bar while it is still attached to
the motor unit. Immerse the blade guard in warm water with some washing-
up liquid and let the appliance run for a while.
Tip: You can also remove the rubber rings from the chopper bowl for extra
thorough cleaning.

Environment
- Do not throw away the appliance with the normal household waste
at the end of its life, but hand it in at an ofcial collection point for
recycling. By doing this, you help to preserve the
environment (Fig. 15).
- The built-in rechargeable batteries contain substances that may
pollute the environment. Always remove the batteries before you
discard and hand in the appliance at an ofcial collection point.
Dispose of the batteries at an ofcial collection point for batteries. If
you have trouble removing the batteries, you can also take the
appliance to a Philips service centre. The staff of this centre will
remove the batteries for you and will dispose of them in an
environmentally safe way (Fig. 16).
Removing the batteries
Only remove the batteries when they are completely empty to avoid a 
hazard. Never let the batteries come into contact with metal.
1 Take the appliance out of the charger.
2 Remove the blender bar, the whisk coupling unit or the chopper 
coupling unit from the motor unit.
3 Let the appliance run until it stops.
4 Press the safety button and x it in this position with adhesive tape.
, The charging light starts ashing red and after 20 seconds the 
charging light lights up blue continuously.When the charging light 
goes out, the batteries should be completely empty.
