5.1.2 Add index marks
Index marks can be used to mark certain points in a recording as
points of reference. Press
h / b to select index marks (see also
chapter 6.2 Playback a recording or music file, page 30).

Press the INDEX/a key during recording to add an index mark.
X The index number is displayed for one second. Up to 32 index
marks can be set per file.
Tip
You can also add index marks while the recording is paused.
5.1.3 Recording using the Zoom function (DVT6000 –
DVT8000)
Use the zoom function to focus on the front microphone and filter
sounds from the side. This allows you to record a lecture or a speech
over a long distance (see also chapter 9.1.4 Set microphone sensitivity,
page 39).
5.1.4 Using the pre-recording function
The pre-recording function allows to record the last five seconds
before you press the record key. The device switches into a standby
mode and records a five-second loop without saving it. Press the
record key to save the five-second loop. This feature allows you to
spontaneously record important parts of a conversation.

Press the g key.
