Black+Decker BL1130SG Questions and Answers

#1 Is it 550 watts peak power or continuous power? I see
another
model BL1220SG that's 700 watts peak power but only
350
continuous power.

There is no info about power on mine. The problem w this
blender is the blades are 3/4" higher than the base. So
anything that falls into that space does not get blended.
Also the unit the blades fit into (part that screws onto the
base) has a hard plastic gasket attached . That cracked
and there is no replacement part available.

#2 Can you put in hot coffee?

No reason why not. Just do not overfill the container and
cover the
top of the unit with a kitchen towel so you don't burn
yourself. I have
used mine in the past to puree soups. Coffee will not be
any different
than that.

#3 Can I pour hot water into the bottle？

Yes, you may. Just always be careful with hot water.

#4 Is this the same blender that America's Test Kitchen tested
and rated
#1 of blenders under $100?

I don't know that answer but I can tell you it works just fine
for us.

#5 How does it work on ice breaking for frozen drinks?

It works good on slow speed and not oversize ice cubes.

#6 Is it brushed chrome or shiny?

It's not very shiny so I guess it's brushed chrome... I will say
this
though it broke after 1 month of use.
