I like our fries super crispy so I usually cook on 400 for about 15min. I also shake and turn them half way threw cooking cycle. You can adjust based on your liking. I have never cooked sweet potato fries but I would assume it would be about the same. Now one tid bit, you should warm you air frier up prior to use. I usually run to temp about 3 to 5 minutes prior to use. I have never done this until a couple weeks ago as I didnt think about it. I read an article about it and it makes sense.
#2 Is the basket sturdy? My current one I had, was metal, this one I am concerned about
As far as I am concerned the basket is sturdy . The outside is plastic where the handle is but the rest is metal .
#3 Is this Chefman Air fryer quiet and loud while cooking?
It is not loud. It’s just like a humming type of sound. It’s frankly more quiet than oil frying. It’s quieter than a microwave too. If your concern is that it’ll be noisy, don’t worry.
#4 How to you switch the temperature units from C to F?
Lightly press and hold the Temp button for two seconds. The little °F located to the right of the displayed temperature will change to °C. Repeat to switch back to Fahrenheit.
#5 Does this work with absolutely no oil? From description it seems like some oil is needed
Yes, it certainly can work with no oil. The oil mentioned is just a suggestion to help with the crispy-ness of french fries, etc. We've used doing hashbrowns, no oil.
